The Walt Disney World Resort is looking for a full time BXMO/Medical Assistant to work five 8-hour shifts per week delivering basic x-ray tasks and general Medical Assistant clinical activities associated with an Occupational Health Clinic. The work environment is fast-paced. You will work side-by-side in a highly collegial, cooperative team management setting that requires frequent communication, intra-team consistency and close cooperation. The physical demands and working conditions require frequent walking, standing, sitting and light lifting (less than 15 lbs.) throughout the shift. There is occasional stooping and bending and frequent fine fingering/handling/reaching (side, overhead, low). This is a full time role working five 8 hour shifts per week. In this role, you will (Responsibilities): X-Ray Support: Performs basic general x-rays for limited body parts under supervision of physician Maintain and use equipment and supplies necessary to demonstrate portions of the human body on x-ray film for diagnostic purposes Handles the complete process from obtaining images, sending imaging, receiving results, and routing results to appropriate provider Clinical Support: Reviews providers' schedules and prepares for patient visits. This may include follow up on all prior testing and results to expedite physician review and streamline patient flow Ace wrap, dressing changes, ice packs, fitting ortho supports Assists Provider for Initial Exams, Re-check Appointments, Medical Surveillance/Regulatory Compliance exams and other types of Occupational Clinic Provider visits. Assists with surgical procedures such as laceration repairs, incision and drainage, burn treatment, etc. Calls patient back into exam room, performs intake processes and preps patient for physician exam (including conducting preliminary medical tests - Snellen Eye tests, grip strength measurements, range of motion studies). Perform phlebotomy as directed Performs EKGs and Pulmonary Function Screening as required Fulfills medication and injection orders (under physician direction) May assist in coordinating outside referrals for diagnostics, treatments (i.e. physical therapy) and specialist providers in the fulfillment of external Provider orders. Requests medical records from other providers as appropriate Perform other medical treatment in accordance with training, certification and provider orders Provide patient education and instructions as directed by physician. Provides restriction and accommodation documentation as required Completes all documentation and quality checks to reduce chance of omission and errors. Ensures timely discharges for patients by printing and providing appropriate paperwork and next step directions Cleans and sanitizes exam room after completion of patient visit Keeps exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintains instruments by sterilizing and prepping as required. Administrative Support: • Provides communications support by answering the phones • Schedules patient clinic appointments • Works in Front Office to greet patients • Monitors incoming messages and voicemail • Scans and indexes incoming documentation • Performs follow up on cancellations and/or no shows • Utilizes reports or other tracking measures to monitor patient flow Basic Qualifications • Valid, non-expired Florida X-Ray License is REQUIRED for BXMO • High School Diploma or equivalent • Current CPR certification • Flexible work schedule including working evenings, weekends, Holidays and occasional overtime • Valid unrestricted Florida Drivers' License Preferred Qualifications • One to three years' experience in a fast paced clinical setting • Prior experience in working with an electronic Scheduling and Medical Record System • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Program Suite including excel Required Education • High School Diploma or equivalent • Non-Expired Florida X-Ray License is REQUIRED • Current CPR certification

Duties and Responsibilities • Scribes accompany the physician upon patient interview and examination. • Scribes document the physician dictated patient history, including history of present illness, review of systems, past medical and surgical history, family and social histories, medications, and allergies. • Scribes document physical examination findings and procedures as performed by the physician. • Scribes document the results of laboratory and radiographic studies as dictated by the physician. • Scribes document the correct time of patient care related activities, including physician to physician communication, family communication and re-examination of the patient. • Scribes will have basic knowledge of billing and coding. • Scribes will not provide any medical care but must be comfortable being in the same room while medical care and medical procedures are provided Required Qualifications • High School Diploma Preferred Qualifications • Prior experience in healthcare settings is preferred, but not required (ex. CNA, EMT, Medical Assistant, etc.) • Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred

Clinical Responsibilities Under the direct supervision and responsibility of a licensed physician, a medical assistant may undertake the following duties: o Perform clinical procedures to include: o Performing aseptic procedures o Taking vital signs o Preparing patients for the physician's care o Performing venipunctures and non-intravenous injections o Observing and reporting patients signs or symptoms o Administering basic first aid o Assisting with patient examinations or treatments. o Operating office medical equipment o Collecting routine laboratory specimens as directed by the physician. o Administering medication as directed by the physician ( Exception: medications requiring dosage calculation) o Performing basic laboratory procedures. o Performing office procedures including all general administrative duties required by the physician.
