Essential Duties: Administer oral medications such as capsules, tablets, liquids and topical medications such as eye drops, ear drops, nose drops, ointments, and other skin preparations, and rectal suppositories. Takes and records vital signs. Records and reports any observations and changes in resident's condition to the charge nurse. Responsible in notifying charge nurse regarding med errors. Including, but not limited to, reporting to the nurse that a medication is not available for use and following facility procedure to obtain the medication. Must be able to provide reports to subsequent shift with briefs on resident's medications and changes in resident's condition. Notifies the charge nurse of any significant observations and changes in resident's condition. Maintains the medication room and the medication system in a clean, orderly manner during shift.
