Prepare exam rooms prior to patient's arrival.

Enter demographic data into the computer upon patient check-in; enter diagnosis and departing time when patient is released.
Answer telephone and transcribe accurate messages.
Ensure that any broken or unsafe equipment is removed from the clinic in a timely manner and notify appropriate personnel.
Assist with patient flow and give direct patient care as directed by government supervisor.
Operate the following medical equipment, as directed by government supervisor, such as Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor, Hand Held Nebulizer, EKG Machine (12 lead), Electronic Thermometer, IV infusion pump (Set-up only), Tynpanometer.
Participate in executing the Emergency Preparedness Plan (drills and actual emergencies) as scheduled by the MTF (typically semiannually).
Participate in peer review and performance improvement activities.
Participate in the implementation of the Family Advocacy Program as directed by government supervisor.
Participation shall include, but not be limited to, appropriate medical examination, documentation, and reporting.
Attend and/or comply with all annual training classes required by the Command, to include but not limited to online annual training provided by the MTF, disaster training, infection control, Sexual Harassment, Bloodborne Pathogens, Fire and Safety, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives (CBRNE), and all other required training.
Actively participate in the command's Performance Improvement Program. Participate in meetings to review and evaluate the care provided to patients, identify opportunities to improve the care delivered, and recommend corrective action when problems exist.
Perform efficiently in emergency patient situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events.
Anticipate potential problems/emergencies and make appropriate interventions.
Notify supervisor, director, or other designated person regarding problems that the HCW is unable to manage.
Comply with the standards of The Joint Commission, applicable provisions of law, and the rules and regulations of any and all governmental authorities pertaining to licensure and regulation of health care personnel and medical treatment facilities, the regulations and standards of medical practice and the MTF's medical staff by laws.

Operate and manipulate automated systems such as CHCS, AHLTA, ADS, Essentra's, and Clinical Information System (CIS), participate in clinical staff Performance Improvement (PI) and Risk Management (RM) functions, as prescribed by the Commander.
Attend and participate in various meetings as directed by government supervisor.
The HealthCare Worker (HCW) shall comply with the HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) privacy and security policies of the treatment facility.
Providers shall obtain/maintain a National Provider Identifier (NPI) in accordance with DOD and MTF policy/instruction, as applicable. **************************
Perform timely, accurate, and concise documentation of patient care.
Maintain documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with clinic directives and prepare such records and reports as may be required. All records and reports must be legible. Abbreviations must be only those listed in local instructions.

This position is responsible for assisting with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a registered nurse or other care providers, and performance of general clinical duties.
Perform basic medical procedures within licensure as per policy.
Obtain and records patient's vital signs, intake and output, per hospital policy.
Assist in the performance of patients' activities of daily living and personal hygiene, to include bathing, dressing, getting in and out of bed, eating, and using the toilet and bedside commode.
Answers phone calls, patient call lights, and determines how best to address the patients' needs.
Observe patient's condition and report any changes.
Monitor and ensure the accuracy of recording in patient's clinical record.
Prepare patient rooms for admission and assist patients with discharge.
Provide support and assistance to ensure quality and quantity of work and care are achieved.,
Timely communication of adverse or sudden changes in patient condition to the RN and the care team.
Prioritize work and effectively adapt to change in workload.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
High School Graduate or GED
Nursing Assistance Certificate from the State of Washington
Current Basic Life Support certification
Oral and written fluency in the English language.
Preferred Qualifications and Education.
One or more years' experience in direct patient care setting.
Oral and written fluency in Spanish.
