Marlborough, MA, United States The Facility Mechanic will execute facility maintenance service activities to support Hologic's mission and business objectives. This position works as part of our facilities team, providing a broad range of hands-on responsibilities. PURPOSE: Perform a wide variety of duties in connection with the installation, repair and maintenance of building, grounds, and facility equipment. * One Time $8,500.00 Sign on Bonus* Schedule: 3:00PM-11:30PM Under minimal supervision and following established procedures and methods, maintains inventory of complex, delicate endoscopic equipment and related component parts. Monitors and/or performs specialized cleaning and decontamination and inspects, assembles and prepares equipment for surgical cases. Performs and/or arranges maintenance and repair services and serves as a resource on equipment use and operation. Tracks and maintains inventory, reordering supplies, monitoring purchase and repair costs and assisting in selection and introduction of new supplies and equipment. Key Responsibilities: * Ensures availability of sterile endoscopic equipment for surgeries, including retrieval, assembly, and specialized sterilization to meet surgical schedules. * Acts as a resource for operating endoscopic and audiovisual equipment; performs inspections, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting. * Coordinates equipment readiness for procedures by providing substitutions and responding to technical assistance requests. * Manages ordering and restocking of endoscopic supplies based on par levels, including receiving, verifying, and distributing inventory. * Oversees proper storage and rotation of supplies, ensuring labeling and packaging meet standards. * Maintains detailed records of inventory, purchasing, equipment repairs, and expenses; reconciles budget variances and supports budget planning. * Processes billing invoices and payment requisitions while addressing related inquiries and vendor issues. * Contributes to evaluation and implementation of new equipment and supplies; serves on relevant committees or project teams. Minimum Qualifications Education: * High School/GED Licensure/ Certifications: * Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) OR Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) required * Required to obtain: Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) within one year of hire The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repairs and maintenance of the facility and equipment and achieving departmental objectives. This individual will work on electro mechanical equipment such as Autoclaves, Isolators, Filling Equipment, and Cappers. Duties and Responsibilities Oversee contractors and service providers managing repairs and installations. Perform maintenance work on automated electro-mechanical equipment. Partner with facilities team to provide technical support as required for facility/utility and safety systems Troubleshoot, repair and ensure PM functions are performed on equipment and building components as required and in compliance with all regulatory requirements, including maintaining records and reports Utilize technical knowledge to assist in determining root cause of equipment or system failure and facilitate corrective actions Work with other departments within the company to resolve problems Prepare and execute work orders as required for repairs and PM contracts with vendors Proactive maintenance of facility and production equipment to minimize unplanned downtime. Experience Minimum of three (3) years general maintenance experience preferably in GMP industry with demonstrated knowledge in all common aspects of building and equipment maintenance. Relevant industry experience in the maintenance of automated equipment is preferred. Education High school diploma. Associates in a technical field or post-secondary Trade School/Technical Institute education preferred.
