Candidates must possess an active coding certification with Hospital ICD-10 coding experience. Additional experience in Ambulance billing is a plus, as well as background in billing Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance including appeals & reconsiderations.
Job duties may vary but will include daily data entry of ambulance run reports, verifying insurance eligibility, filing appeals with insurance companies, posting insurance payments, and handling inbound/outbound phone calls.
Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm. Salary DOE. This is a full-time position, and is benefits eligible. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Screen uninsured hospital patients at bedside in an effort to determine if patient is a viable candidate for federal, state, and/or county medical or disability assistance.
* Complete the appropriate applications and following through until approved.
* Detailed, accurate and timely documentation in both MPower and the hospital systems on all cases worked.
* Provide exceptional customer service at all times.
* Participate in ongoing trainings in order to apply the content learned in dealings with patients and cases.
