The MedicalDirector is responsible for providing direction for the development and clinical performance of the General Otolaryngology program with areas of focus in: Program Building; Clinical Quality and Performance Improvement; and Innovation, Teaching and Research.
This employment opportunity is for a board-certified Otolaryngologist with an interest in being part of a newer program and helping to build and grow a practice. The new physician would provide continuity of care in a brand-new outpatient clinic along with inpatient coverage with APP support. Collaboration with our well known and established head and neck oncology surgery team also makes this an exciting position.

The MedicalDirector should be dedicated to exceptional clinical care and have interests in administration, quality, research and education. The Carol Jenkins Barnett Pavilion for Women and Children at Lakeland Regional Hospital in Lakeland, Florida offers comprehensive care for children from birth to adulthood in collaboration with Nemours Subspecialty Physicians. The 12-bed PICU at Lakeland Regional Health has all private rooms with family friendly amenities. It is supported by a robust pediatric emergency room, recent expansion of surgical services and the addition of a pediatric trauma service. Responsibilities include designing clinical protocols, managing staffing and quality metrics, admitting patients from the Pediatric ED, rounding on patients in the PICU, consulting with the pediatric subspecialists, and promoting research and education for nurses, APPs, medical students and residents. Shifts are in-house eight hours per day and on call from home within 30 minutes response the remainder of the shift. Additionally, PICU APPs are in-house 12-hours overnight. Nemours providers at Lakeland Regional Health have access to more than 13 pediatric subspecialties on site as well as remote access to all the Nemours pediatric subspecialists located in Orlando. The Nemours Transport team provides critical care transport services to Nemours Children's Hospital, Florida for children requiring higher level care.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
As the Regional MedicalDirector, you provide strategic clinical leadership and oversight across multiple care centers within your assigned region. You are responsible for ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality, value-based care by a diverse team of providers including physicians, APRNs, and PAs who will directly report to you.

Nemours Children's Hospital, Florida is seeking a physician to serve as MedicalDirector of our Adult Congenital Heart Disease program. We are seeking an individual to establish the ACHD clinic that will serve the growing population of teenagers and young adults with congenital heart disease. This individual will be a key stakeholder in identifying the location for the clinic and will dictate the logistics of its operation. The role would involve predominately outpatient care but would also involve consultative support for the post-operative management of ACHD patients. This individual will work to expand access and services for ACHD patients in the Orlando area.
Eligible applicants will be board certified/eligible in ACHD. Applicants will also be dual trained in internal medicine and pediatrics and have completed fellowships in adult and pediatric cardiology.

The Job
Organize and work a large case load in accordance with the various established processes specific to medical record, administrative, form, file, refund, and communication queues. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
Support members as primary point of contact with providers in obtaining required medical records - including providing and receiving written and telephone communication
Serve as primary point of contact with members in obtaining authorizations
Work directly with providers to obtain refunds on inaccurately shared bills
Effectively communicate guidelines to providers to retrieve necessary information and guide parties through established processes/procedures
Forward, send, and/or label incoming documentation (i.e. forms, medical records, authorizations, legal, etc.) when applicable - providing accurate and detailed case notes in accordance with established processes
Handle multiple cases and document appropriate notes & status in required billing system (i.e. SalesForce, CSI)
Review reports to determine if cases need to be opened and worked by other internal team members
Assess cases within queues, sending them to appropriate areas to work/review
Keep leadership informed of high risk/high dollar cases
Offer to pray with providers and members on every call
Contribute to the exercise and expression of Christian Care Ministry's Christian beliefs
