Responsibilities: The Director of Rehab OT is responsible for the efficient management of rehabilitation services in their assigned account(s). This position also assists in integration of rehabilitation services in all settings. The Director of Rehab OT ensures that the highest standard of rehabilitation services is delivered and maintained.
1. Assumes responsibility for the efficient and profitable management of rehabilitation services in assigned site(s) of service.
2. Provides direct patient care.
3. Monitors the standard of clinical services being delivered and maintained in all sites and ensures an ethical and compliant product is being delivered.
4. Operationally manages Powerback Rehabilitation personnel and consultants within facility or home care contracts.
5. Ensures accountability to the provision of evidence based care and adherence to care delivery standards.
6. Reviews monthly department and individual therapist outcomes and supports staff in identifying strategies to improve outcomes as needed.
7. Assists therapy staff in identifying and removing barriers to treatment and providing clinical education to meet the needs of the patient.
8. Takes responsibility for the development and support of all staff in their site to include rounding, coaching and mentoring.
9. Assumes responsibility for annual merit evaluation of therapy staff.
10. Assumes responsibility for hiring therapy staff (in conjunction with the Clinical Operations Area Director).
11. Assumes responsibility for daily staffing and utilization with input from treating therapists, consideration of clinical requirements, and recommendations from the Clinical Director.
12. Administers financial controls of revenue and expenses.
13. Assumes responsibility for facility reports on a weekly and monthly basis.
14. Assists Clinical Operations Area Director in annual budget preparation.
15. Assumes responsibility for meeting annual budget goals as set by Clinical Operations Area Director.
16. Assists with clinical orientation and ensures that there is a quality orientation process for new rehab staff.
17. Supports the delivery of the highest standard of rehab services through appropriate utilization of resources, the promotion of clinical programs, and staff development in collaboration with licensed therapists, the Clinical Operations Area Director and the Clinical Director.
18. Promotes all Powerback Rehabilitation products and services whenever possible.
19. Assists Clinical Operations Area Director in identifying and securing new contracts.
20. Develops and maintains relationship with facility management team and staff as a representative of Powerback Rehabilitation.
21. Ensures that the clinical management of the rehab department, including oversight related to case management, quality improvement, care planning, clinical utilization, and patient identification is overseen.
22. Completes monthly reports and formally reviews them with the facility administration.
23. Performs other related duties as required. Qualifications: 1. They must have a Bachelor's degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards.
2. They must have initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
3. The Director of Rehab OT must hold a valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license as required in the state of practice.
4. Additionally, the Director of Rehab OT must have three years direct patient care experience and one year of management experience.

About Our Organization
Santa Clara Valley Healthcare (SCVH) is the second-largest County-owned health and hospital system in California and is committed to improving the health of the 1.9 million people of Santa Clara County. About the Position
This physician will provide clinical and administrative oversight of our Gender Health Clinic which is the an integrated, team-based primary care clinic with collaboration between primary care, specialty, psychiatry, social services, nursing, and community partners, including partners in the transgender/gender expansive community. The clinic provides primary care to our transgender/gender expansive patients, including preventative health, disease management, hormonal therapy and surgical treatment for gender transition. This physician will also provide clinical consultation and guidance to other primary care providers at the Gender Health Clinic and other SCVMC clinics, regarding transgender/gender expansive patients, with the ultimate goal of strengthening clinical care across our health and hospital system.
Candidates must be board-certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine and have at least one year of clinical experience providing healthcare for transgender/gender expansive patients. The ideal candidate will have completed an approved fellowship/training program in transgender healthcare, experienced in management of a gender health program within a large health system with demonstrated success with innovation, collaboration, teamwork, project management, and quality improvement.

The Opportunity

Execute efficient recruitment, onboarding, and training processes for new providers, ensuring the practice is staffed with highly qualified professionals.
Provide learning and development opportunities and mentoring to providers and staff to enhance their clinical acumen, leadership skills and overall professional growth.
Evaluate the performance of physicians and PA / NPs in compliance with Vituity policies and guidelines.
Monitor physician competencies with progressive improvement using appropriate metrics. Counsel, suspend, or remove staff from the schedule as necessary in compliance with Vituity polices / guidelines.
Actively participate in contract negotiations in conjunction with the Regional Director.
Develop, foster, and maintain productive and collaborative working relationships with hospital leadership, nursing staff and other healthcare team members.
Ensure practice is appropriately represented and demonstrates their value through leadership roles (as applicable) and/or participation with hospital management, medical staff leadership, Medical Executive, Medical Staff and other hospital committees, and within the local community.
Ambassador Program
As an ambassador you'll have the opportunity to work in a variety of practice settings while earning premium pay. Vituity has an excellent opportunity for Hospital Medicine Medical Directors to join our ambassador team. Our ambassadors act as support for the emergency staffing needs at our existing sites and new start-ups.
Full-time ambassadors are guaranteed a minimum of 125 hours per month.
All travel, meals, room and board costs are covered.
Hospital credentialing fees, applicable state licensing, secondary DEA cost and required certifications for the site will be covered.

As the role of the Vituity Ambassador requires the ability to obtain temporary privileges at our client hospitals, all Ambassador candidates must have a clean professional record regarding standard hospital attestation questions (not including malpractice cases).

Manages and provides operational and nursing leadership and guidance, ensuring the quality of nursing care within preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative areas.
Provides patient care and acts as a resource person to the staff and assures patient care needs are met in the department.
Demonstrates critical thinking skills and, in collaboration with other disciplines, surgeons, anesthesiologists, is able to coordinate unit activities, staffing plans and contributes to resolving inter and intra departmental problems.
Assesses the quality of care delivered and provides input for staff mentoring/evaluation, staffing, hiring, performance management and general daily operation of the unit.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Experience: 5+ years of recent perioperative services management experience; Able to prioritize effectively according to department needs and ability to organize a large number of changing variables; Strong communication, diplomacy and persuasiveness, analytical ability, strong judgment and managerial skills
