The Opportunity
We are seeking a Director of Military Affairs - Army with extensive staff and leadership experience at a major military command or higher headquarters. The ideal candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of military leadership structures and installation functions, as well as Army active duty and Reserve Forces programs. This position requires the ability to work weekends and long hours, with at least 120 days of travel per year. What you'll do:
Advises the planning, execution, and analysis of Military Affairs service strategies. Collaborates with executive management to establish strategic and operational frameworks and achieve business objectives.
Provides consultation and execution support to USAA National Platform issues. Facilitates contact between internal and external partners to complete business agreements and assists with contract negotiations, proof of concepts, and return on investment contract surveys.
Collaborates with Marketing and Corporate Affairs partners to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of content and imagery depicting or referencing members of the Armed Forces.

Morris Behavioral Health Center is a 70,000 sf, 72 patient 24-hour Tier 4 facility, with a Pharmacy, and a Learning Kitchen for the PRTF. The new facility will be comprised of 24 PRTF beds for Adolescents, a FBC with 16 Crisis Adolescent SUD Beds, and a Behavioral Health Urgent Care offering services for both Adolescents and Adults. There is a strong preference for someone who can work onsite until the program is up and running efficiently, then a hybrid model of both onsite and remote can be considered.
The Psychiatrist, MedicalDirector will be responsible for oversight (including the planning, developing, and implementation) of the delivery of medical services provided by the Stephen M Morris Behavioral Health Center. This includes ensuring quality of providers and quality of services delivered. The MedicalDirector will work closely with the medical leadership team, and other clinical leaders, on the clinical initiatives of the group. The MedicalDirector will ensure that structures for clinical operations are developed that promote companywide consistency and integrity of clinical treatment. This is a clinical position requiring 40% time for direct patient care and 60% time for administrative duties. Additional advanced practice provider (APP) clinical oversight will be expected and considered within the clinical duties.What You'll Do:

Position Summary
Under supervision of the VP, Head of Medical Safety & Pharmacovigilance, and as per company policies and procedures, the MedicalDirector, Safety Evaluation & Risk Management (Neuromuscular) will be responsible for strategic and innovative medical leadership for Clinical Safety, Pharmacovigilance and Risk Management activities for assigned AskBio investigational products. This individual will function in a matrix team environment interacting with several key internal stakeholder groups including Clinical Development Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Product Quality Compliance, Quality Assurance, Translational Medicine etc.
Job Responsibilities
Represent Medical Safety & Pharmacovigilance in Clinical Teams for assigned investigational products providing medical guidance in planning and gaining alignment for all safety matters and issues
Lead Safety Management Team(s) navigating complex safety issues for assigned Investigational product(s) and responsible for all associated risk management activities, including regular review of safety data for identification and evaluation of new safety signals
Provide safety review and safety content for critical development program documents including protocols, ICFs, IBs, IMPDs, CSRs, INDs, CTAs, and NDA/BLA/MAAs/IDMC Charters
Provide/oversee medical review of adverse event reports to ensure the accuracy, integrity and completeness of information entered in the safety database
Provide input in responding to and resolving safety questions from regulatory authorities
Provide input/oversee production of regulatory periodic safety submissions such as development safety update report (DSUR) and other aggregate safety reports for regulatory agencies worldwide
Minimum Requirements
Advanced medical degree (e.g., MD, MBBS, DO)
5+ years of relevant experience in drug safety, pharmacovigilance, and/or clinical research, including 3+ years working as a Safety Physician in the clinical safety department of a biopharmaceutical company
Experience should include safety risk management, pharmacovigilance, and/or clinical research with exposure to clinical data collection, assessment, and analysis
Good working knowledge of global PV requirements (e.g., US Code of Federal (CFR) regulations; European Union (EU); Guideline on Good Pharmacovigilance Practices (GVP) and ICH Guidelines
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to facilitate collaboration across functions to reach consensus on safety topics
Demonstrates excellent scientific/clinical and analytical knowledge base, with ability to assess data and understand the safety/medical implications
