Responsibilities:
The Medical Director provides 24-hour management of the Medical and Psychiatric Services of the facility. Reporting to the Chief Medical Director, the Medical Director provides effective leadership to staff, has knowledge of Advanced Recovery Systems programs and directs all medical activities within the facility in accordance with standards of State and Federal regulations and other indicated regulatory and accrediting organizations and agencies. The Medical Director works effectively with the facility leadership team to ensure success of the facility by completing the following:
CORE JOB DUTIES:
Provides administrative oversight of the facility's medical services, by overseeing and leading the medical staff, dietitians, and physician services coordinator (where applicable) while building a collaborative team with nursing and clinical departments.
Provides excellent medical care with the ARS philosophy outlined by the Chief Medical Officer. This includes knowledge of detoxification protocols, assessment for medication, withdrawal assessment and management of complications, detoxification protocols, and Medication Assisted Therapy.
Understands ASAM criteria and Medical Needs Criteria provided and will document decision making accordingly.
Assists the COM and the Executive Director of the facility in the development and maintenance of written objectives, policies, a procedure manual, an organization plan and a quality assurance program for medical services, and review of all medical policies and procedures at least annually. Documentation shall be shared with the facility's medical staff; the director of nursing serves and other appropriate medical staff on an ongoing basis or as revisions are made.
In conjunction with the CMO, Executive Director and the governing authority of the substance use disorders treatment facility, plan, and budget for medical services.
Support medical staff for success with medical department metrics including, but not limited to Expense Management, Compliance Quantity (includes items such as but not limited to timely completion of records, PDMP, EKG, MAT acceptance), Compliance Quality (Quality of documentation of medical records), Completion % treatment stay, and Outcomes/ Readmission rates.
Completes and is proficient using the electronic health record with all required documentation. ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures, state regulation, Joint Commission standards and Medical Needs Criteria. These records will be completed and authenticated in a timely manner per policy. This includes but is not limited to the following electronic record documents: Psychiatric Evaluation and/or Admission History and Physical Evaluation, Medical Progress Notes, Discharge Summary, and Orders.
Review any physical examination reports and medical screening results conducted off-site of a client for the preadmissions process or for other medical concerns, in order to ensure that the client's medical needs are considered and addressed in the development of the treatment plan and throughout treatment.
Develops and Implements plans for Performance Improvement as need.
Understands and communicates the On-Call responsibilities; will provide contact and back-up numbers, being responsive and available not only when assigned on-call duties, but as backup when medical provider/Medical Director on-call is unavailable. When on call, will be within one hour of facility in case an emergency that requires going to facility.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
The physician serves as medical director for skilled nursing facilities (SNF) and participates in administrative and quality initiatives for the facilities he or she is responsible for;
Medical directorship functions include attending and participating in monthly quality assurance and process improvement meetings; participating in quality improvement initiatives; providing guidance to facility staff; reviewing and revising (if necessary) facility's clinical guidelines; insuring compliance with state and federal regulations, training facility staff; and supervising facility clinical staff.
In addition to the medical director role, the physician also serves as the attending physician for the residents residing at each facility;
The physician collaborates with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to manage day to day resident care at each facility. Typically, each facility will have a full-time PA or NP assigned to the facility depending on the acuity and volume of the patient population;
Physician will provide high quality, patient-centered, comprehensive primary care services by rounding on patients residing in SNFs;
Physician is responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with acute illness, such as bacterial and viral infections, as well as chronic diseases and conditions, such as hypertension, heart disease, or diabetes
Provider documentation is completed in Theoria's proprietary electronic health record (EHR) system, ChartEasy™

The physician serves as medical director for skilled nursing facilities (SNF) and participates in administrative and quality initiatives for the facilities he or she is responsible for;

We are looking for an **Omnichannel Data Scientist** , **Medical Omnichannel** with strong expertise in artificial intelligence, encompassing machine learning, data mining, and information retrieval. This position specifically entails the conceptualization, prototyping and development of next generation advanced analytics model-based decision engines and services. The ideal candidate will engage closely with key stakeholders to understand strategic objectives and leverage advanced data analytics and machine learning techniques to enhance communication strategies, ensuring seamless and personalized interactions with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and key opinion leaders (KOLs).
**Job Expectations/Responsibilities:**
**Data Integration & Management**
+ Explore and analyze common pharmaceuticals data (e.g., claims) as well as novel data sets based on lab and EHR systems. Work with Omnichannel Data Engineer to Integrate data from multiple sources (e.g., CRM systems, social media, email platforms) to create a unified view of stakeholder interactions.
+ Apply natural language processing (NLP) to extract insights from unstructured medical texts, such as clinical notes or call center transcripts.
+ Identifying relevant data drivers (features) that can inform decision making closely tied with strategy and creating visualizations to help communicate findings.
**Advanced Analytics & Modeling**
+ Implement advanced analytics models, including predictive analytics and clustering algorithms, to generate actionable insights and track trends across various channels.
+ Work with Omnichannel ML/Ops engineer to build, test, and deploy production-grade predictive models and algorithms as part of the Omnichannel COE decision engine to meet business needs, including optimization of sales activities and predicting drivers of customer behavior.
+ Create repeatable, interpretable, dynamic, and scalable models that are seamlessly incorporated into analytic data products and match the needs of Otsuka's growing portfolio.
+ Collaborate on MLOPS life cycle experience with MLOPS workflows traceability and versioning of datasets. Build and maintain familiarity with Otsuka Machine Learning tech stack including AWS, Kubernetes, Snowflake, and Dataiku
**Omnichannel Optimization**
+ Design and deploy recommendation systems to tailor communications based on stakeholder preferences and behaviors. Utilize machine learning algorithms (e.g., collaborative filtering, content-based filtering) to enhance personalization efforts.
+ Analyze the performance of omnichannel campaigns (email, SMS, in-app, HCP portals, etc.) to identify high-impact touchpoints and optimize engagement strategies. Use A/B testing and uplift modeling to evaluate the effectiveness of different communication strategies and content types.
**Stakeholder Collaboration**
+ Effectively communicating analytical approach to address strategic objectives to business partners.
+ Work closely with medical affairs, marketing, and IT teams to ensure alignment and integration of omnichannel strategies. Provide technical guidance and support to cross-functional teams on data-related projects.
+ Stay updated with emerging industrial trends (Conferences and community engagement) and develop strategic industry partnerships on Omnichannel analytics to strengthen Otsuka's analytical methods and outcomes.
+ Model Otsuka's core competencies (Accountability for Results, Strategic Thinking & Problem Solving, Patient & Customer Centricity, Impact Communications, Respectful Collaboration & Empowered Development) that define how we work together at Otsuka. **Minimum Qualification:**
+ Bachelor's degree in data sciences, computer science and 4-6 years of relevant experience
**Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**
+ Demonstrated experience with scripting and implementing data analytics algorithms and models. Hands on experience using a modeling and simulation software (e.g. Python, Matlab, R, NONMEM, SAS, S-Plus, etc.) is a plus.
+ Knowledge/Experience in the usage of machine learning/AI tools in life science area(s) and handling life science datasets is preferred.
+ Excellent interpersonal, technical, and communication skills to lead cross-functional teams.
+ Profound grasp of Machine Learning lifecycle - feature engineering, training, validation, scaling, deployment, scoring, monitoring, and feedback loop.
+ Have implemented machine learning projects from initiation through completion with particular focus on automated deployment and ensuring optimized performance.

We are currently seeking a full-time Medical Director to join our team at Lansing Correctional Facility located just outside of Kansas City in Lansing, Kansas.
The Medical Director provides the clinical direction needed to meet service delivery requirements, direct clinical services for patients, and clinical supervision for medical staff at the assigned site under the supervision of the Statewide Medical Director. The Medical Director collaborates with the Health Services Administrator (HSA) to ensure efficient and clinically appropriate medical services are provided, and participates in various committees to include Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), Infection Prevention and Control, and Pharmacy and Therapeutics as requested.
Qualifications
Documentation of education as MD or DO and completion of accredited residency program required
Board certified in Internal, Emergency or Family Medicine
Current license to practice medicine in Kansas or ability to obtain
Must have and maintain an active, non-restricted Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration certificate
Must be able to pass background investigation, drug screen and obtain agency security clearance where applicable
Minimum of two years' experience as a physician in a clinical setting; supervisory experience preferred
Experience in a correctional health setting or institutional setting preferred
Position is 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday
Annual Salary: $291,000/yr.
