The Advanced Practice Provider (NP) will be an integral member of the Division of Pediatrics at Hasbro Children's. Under the general supervision of the Manager of Pediatric Advanced Practice Providers, is responsible for the development of competencies and organization of the clinical services, including scheduling, evaluation, and educational requirements of Pediatric Advanced Practice Providers. Role models and promotes professional practice standards to meet all accreditation and certification requirements. Assists in the care and management of patients in the outpatient setting to include, but is not limited to, history and physical, ongoing assessment and intervention and coordination of follow-up plan. All essential functions performed in this position reflect the age-specific needs of the patient.
Responsibilities
Develops and maintains on-going competency validation and in-service education programs for the Advanced Practice Providers, including maintenance of PALS certification. Maintains appropriate documentation of competencies, accreditation, and certification achievements.
Participates in the hiring of Advanced Practice Providers, including initial review of applications and selection of candidates and participation in the interviewing and final selection process. Establishes schedule of orientation and conducts periodic review with new practitioner to insure successful transition into professional role.
Evaluates and conducts the annual performance evaluation of the Advanced Practice Providers.
Collaborates with other medical services and departments within the hospital, including participation on department and hospital wide teams, to promote quality outcomes for patients being cared for by the Advanced Practice Providers.
Develops schedules for the Advanced Practice Providers, maintaining clinical coverage, as required.
Acts as payroll coordinator for Advanced Practice Providers.
Performs other clinical and administrative functions within the area of Advanced Practice Providers as deemed appropriate by the department Director.
As a clinician, obtains and records medical histories, performs and records physical examinations, records pertinent progress notes in the medical records, develops treatment plans, develops follow-up plans, initiates life-saving measures in emergency situations until aid arrives.
Manages a case load of patients in partnership with the healthcare team to optimize health status and coordinate care over time and across healthcare settings.
Oversees care coordination in acute, home care, and ambulatory care settings as feasible.
Initiates patient orders for admission, including diet, fluids, activity, tests, x-ray studies, blood products, and medications, in accordance to hospital procedure.
Performs advanced practice skills and participates in program development under the supervision of the Division Director.
Assists the healthcare team to achieve mutually agreed upon healthcare goals by providing necessary support, education, and encouragement.
Assesses patient status, participates in the development of a patient care management plan with the registered nurses and the Attending Physician. Participates in the education of patient, family and caregivers, regarding any procedures, post procedural care, and expected outcomes and progress.
Assists in clinical research projects, including data acquisition, entry, and analysis, as needed.
Maintains Quality Assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control, in accordance with established hospital department policies, procedures, and objectives.
Prescriptive privileges per licensure.

BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
Must be a graduate of either a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant Program.
If a Nurse Practitioner, must have a Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Nurse Practitioner certification or certification eligible by the American Nurses Association (ANA) or by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
Licensed in the State of Rhode Island as a Nurse Practitioner; license must include prescriptive privileges.
If a Physician Assistant, must be a graduate of a Physician Assistant Program with a B.S. degree.
Passing grade on certifying examination administered by the NCCPA.
Certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants.
Basic Life Support/Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required.
Functions with demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span, with consideration of the aging processes, human development stage and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.
EXPERIENCE:
Three years' clinical experience in the care of pediatric patients in the outpatient subspecialty setting.
Prior supervisory experience is desirable.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS:
General hospital environment with occasional stressful conditions associated with patient care.
Works with medical equipment and has direct patient contact.
Any potential hazards are minimized by adherence to established safety procedures and precautions including use safety equipment and protective clothing.
Walks and stands intermittently throughout the day.

Minimum Requirements:

* Must possess an active unrestricted medical license to practice medicine or a health profession.
* Unless expressly allowed by state or federal law, or regulation, must be located in a state or territory of the United States when conducting utilization review or an appeals consideration and cannot be located on a US military base, vessel or any embassy located in or outside of the US.
* Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
* For Health Solutions and Carelon organizations (including behavioral health) only, minimum of 5 years of experience providing health care is required. Additional experience may be required by State contracts or regulations if the MedicalDirector is filing a role required by a State agency.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Indiana MD license or compact state multi-licensure is preferred but not exclusive.
* Board certification preferably in a Primary Health Specialty, Family or Internal medicine or Surgery (surgical specialty).
* Knowledge and experience with population or segment health management is a plus.
* Knowledge of the health insurance industry and the National Accounts segment is preferred.

**_What Finance Operations contributes to Cardinal Health_** Finance oversees the accounting, tax, financial plans and policies of the organization, establishes and maintains fiscal controls, prepares and interprets financial reports, oversees financial systems and safeguards the organization's assets.
Finance Operations is responsible for core financial operation processes. This can include customer and vendor contract administration; customer and vendor pricing, rebates, billing vendor chargeback research and reconciliation; processing vendor invoices and employee expense reports for payment; fixed asset accounting for book and tax records; cash application; and journal entries.

**_Responsibilities_**
+ Manage a team of Cardinal Health and Genpact individuals who oversee the entirety of the GPO Admin Fees and Rebates set up and report creation functions, including P&L accruals, rebate setups within SAP Vistex and ad hoc reporting for key internal and external stakeholders. Responsible for the month end accounting close process.
+ Ensure GPO Admin Fees and Rebates are properly accounted for based on core accounting principles
+ Own first level review/approval responsibilities for non-standard rebate structures to ensure proper audit documentation is maintained and proper approvals are received
+ Oversee key rebate accuracy and timeliness CSLs and KPIs
+ Partner with cross-functional teams to research and resolve root cause issues impacting rebate accuracy or ability to set up Rebates and GPO Admin Fees timely; apply big picture knowledge to assess and interpret financial impact of process changes and resulting driver outcomes of GPO Admin Fee/Rebate set up changes
+ Foster a strong SOX internal control structure and seek opportunities for improvements, including build out of SOP processes and project development
+ Transform current payout and reporting process into Vistex implementation and go-forward build/upkeep
+ Develop plans for future systematic enhancements
+ Assist team with more complicated customer and transaction activities; oversee escalations to ensure closure in a timely manner
+ Partner with and be a thought-provoking leader to business partners across the organization to properly account for transactions, including but not limited to Sales, Legal, Finance, Pricing, Accounting and Contracting
+ Actively collaborate and support cross-functional team initiatives to improve customer experience, both internally and externally
+ Establish team and individual-oriented goals for growth and development
**_Qualifications_**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Management, preferred
+ CPA preferred
+ 8+ years of professional experience in related field, preferred, including Accounting, Finance, or Audit, preferred
+ Accounting and Finance acumen
+ Ability to lead a new team and influence others
+ Knowledge with SAP and legal contracts (revenue recognition standards is a plus)
