Job Summary
The Clinical Care Leader (CCL) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care in the home setting. Collaborates with other inter-professional colleagues, to plan, implement and evaluate care. Documents resident history, symptoms, medications and care provided in compliance with applicable standards/regulations. Utilizes technology to enhance quality resident care, to collaborate with inter-professional team members, effectively delegate to and supervise unlicensed personnel, assume overall nursing accountability for a resident assignment and serve in leadership roles on department/organizational tasks forces and committees. Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in the specific care area or unit.
Must have effective communication skills to collaborate, negotiate and resolve conflicts, situations, and/or issues with peers, inter-professional colleagues, residents and families. Must have strong clinical reasoning and critical thinking skills to analyze data and appropriately respond to changing situations. coordination of care, resident assessment, resident education, triage, and various other nursing interventions.
Functions within the scopes and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in state of practice and licensure. The Sanford Professional Nursing Practice recognizes the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as published by the American Nurses Association as the foundation of nursing care delivery and professional conduct.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Nursing strongly preferred. Graduate from an accredited nursing program, including, but not limited to, those accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
Minimum of two years' clinical experience preferred.
Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. Depending on location, a valid drivers license may be required. Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process experience preferred, but not required.

Our "eye only" ambulatory surgery center hosts the region's most experienced, comprehensive ophthalmic surgery and subspecialty surgeons. Ophthalmology Ltd. Eye Surgery Center is seeking an experienced and dedicated Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Nurse Director to lead our surgical center operations. The ASC Director oversees nursing and support staff, ensuring high-quality patient care and compliance with all healthcare and accreditation standards. This role is ideal for a hands-on nursing leader who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-focused surgical environment.
What You'll Do
As the ASC Director, you will:
* Lead daily operations of the Ambulatory Surgery Center, ensuring smooth workflow and exceptional patient outcomes.
* Oversee and mentor nursing and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
* Develop, implement, and monitor policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Participate in budget development, cost control, and surgery center financial management.
* Coordinate surgical schedules and ensure appropriate staffing, equipment, and supplies.
* Oversee compliance, QAPI, and staff education programs.
* Stay current with healthcare laws, accreditation requirements, and best practices.
* Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, and patients, promoting the mission and values of Ophthalmology Ltd.
* Occasionally assist in surgical procedures to ensure patient safety and comfort.

What You'll Bring
* Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
* Licensure: Current RN license in South Dakota; BCLS and ACLS certification required.
* Experience:
Prior leadership experience in surgical or clinical nursing.
Minimum two years' operating room experience (ophthalmology experience preferred).
* Preferred Certifications: CDONA or DNS-CT
* Skills
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Knowledge of electronic patient data systems.
Ability to problem-solve, multitask, and lead with empathy and professionalism.

Summary
Responsible for providing clinical and administrative leadership to assigned departments to maintain standards of patient care. Responsible for the overall quality of care provided by the organization nursing personnel. Advises medical staff, department leaders, and administrators in matters related to nursing service and strategies. Interprets policies and objectives of nursing service to staff and community groups. Monitors the operations of the nursing staff and ensures compliance with regulations on organizational and governmental standards and practices.
Job Description
Participates in task forces, committees, board meetings, etc. to assist with the overall organizational goals and strategic initiatives. Review and consult on strategic plans in collaboration with leadership and nursing units. Ability to implement and sustain the strategies to support the vision, mission and goals of the organization. Develops trusting relationships with personnel, clinical professionals, other leadership, and inter-professional departments with a professional attitude. Understands and leverages current and potential team capabilities and ability to clarify performance targets and objectives to drive project and process improvement strategies. Knowledge of human resources and personnel management processes; ability to lead, motivate, evaluate and reward personnel at the work place.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in nursing required. Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). For Rural Health Network facilities only, employees who do not possess a Bachelor's degree in the required field, leadership may consider an educational plan with proven continuous action toward achieving a Bachelor's degree in Nursing within five years of hire into position. Additionally for Rural Health Network facilities, for current employees, leadership may have considered acceptable qualifications and work experience equivalency based on facility size, rural market, and business need, prior to new Sanford education requirements.
Minimum of three years clinical experience required. Minimum of two years prior management/leadership experience required. Thorough knowledge of the nursing practice act and standards of nursing care, and a working knowledge of administrative and management techniques.
Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. Certification is encouraged and may be required depending on specialty or service area.
