Location: This role enables associates to work virtually full-time, with the exception of required in-person training sessions, providing maximum flexibility and autonomy. The **Behavioral Health MedicalDirector- Child Psychiatrist** is responsible for completing medical necessity reviews for general child psychiatry cases as well as Applied Behavioral Analysis cases supporting commercial and Medicaid business lines.
**How you will make an impact:**
+ Conducts peer-to-peer clinical reviews with attending physicians or other providers to discuss review determinations, and patients' office visits with providers and external physicians.
+ Applies clinical knowledge and skills to utilization review processes.
+ Adheres to medical policies and clinical guidelines.
+ As assigned, engage in clinical and non-clinical activities that impact health care quality cost and outcomes
+ If requested, provides guidance for clinical operational aspects of a program.
+ May be required to serve on internal and/or external committees.
+ May develop and propose new medical policies based on changes in healthcare.
+ As assigned, engage in clinical and non-clinical activities that impact health care quality cost and outcomes.
+ Identifies and develops opportunities for innovation to increase effectiveness and quality.
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Requires MD or DO and Board certification approved by one of the following certifying boards is required, where applicable to duties being performed, American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
+ Must possess an active unrestricted medical license to practice medicine or a health profession.
+ Unless expressly allowed by state or federal law, or regulation, must be located in a state or territory of the United States when conducting utilization review or an appeals consideration and cannot be located on a US military base, vessel or any embassy located in or outside of the US.
+ Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
+ For Health Solutions and Carelon organizations (including behavioral health) only, minimum of 5 years of experience providing health care is required. Additional experience may be required by State contracts or regulations if the MedicalDirector is filing a role required by a State agency.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Willing to obtain a California medical license.
+ Board Certified in Child & Adolescent psychiatry **strongly** preferred.
For candidates working in person or virtually in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $250,236 to $428,976.

The Associate MedicalDirector is also responsible for administrative oversight and outcomes for approximately 15 providers designated to their area.

**Essential Functions:**
+ Clinician's PTO management in collaboration with Center administrator, including holiday schedules and as determined by the organization.
+ Collaborate as a dyad partner with assigned area operation director(s) to coordinate operational and clinical matters in assigned centers
+ Management of CME time and reimbursement requests.
+ Service recovery reports (Patient complaints)
+ Guidance to individual clinicians about patient terminations, in collaboration with compliance.
+ Supervise/manage clinicians at assigned centers.
+ Manage behavioral concerns pertaining to assigned clinicians
+ Provider on-boarding as determined by on boarding procedure.
+ Provider off-boarding as determined by off boarding procedure.
+ Provide support to on-site with workflow issues.
+ Check in with clinicians at their site routinely.

Job Summary
The Clinical Director is a senior leadership role responsible for planning, developing, launching, and overseeing Foundation for Recoverys new continuum of substance use disorder (SUD) clinical services. This is a rare opportunity to design and lead a best-in-class treatment program within a nationally recognized Recovery Community Organization (RCO) and help build a sustainable, peer-informed, and clinically integrated model of care.
This position will be instrumental in building the Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Outpatient (OP), and Partial Hospitalization (PHP) program from the ground up guiding initial program design, obtaining necessary state approvals and accreditation, enrolling with insurance payers including Medicaid and Managed Care Organizations, and recruiting a multidisciplinary clinical team.
Once operational, the Clinical Director provides clinical leadership and oversight for all licensed treatment services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, and person-centered care that integrates with our existing peer-led recovery support programs. Lead the planning, design, and launch of the organizations first licensed SUD treatment programs (IOP, OP, PHP).

Guide the organization through state licensure, certification, and accreditation processes (e.g., CARF, SAPTA, Joint Commission, and/or other recognized bodies).

Qualifications
Education & Licensure
Masters degree or higher in social work, counseling, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or related behavioral health field.
Active Nevada clinical license (LCSW, LMFT, LCPC, or equivalent) required.
Qualified QMHP under NevadaMedicaid
Eligible or experienced as a Clinical Supervisor in Nevada preferred.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in behavioral health or substance use disorder treatment settings.
Demonstrated success in program startup, licensing, and/or accreditation (CARF or Joint Commission and SAPTA).
Experience with insurance credentialing, payer enrollment, and billing processes for behavioral health services, specifically provider types 93, 97, and 14.
Proven ability to hire, supervise, and develop clinical teams.
Knowledge of IOP, OP, and PHP program operations, including group therapy, individual counseling, assessment, and case management.

Job SummaryThe Clinical Director is a senior leadership role responsible for planning, developing, launching, and overseeing Foundation for Recovery's new continuum of substance use disorder (SUD) clinical services. This is a rare opportunity to design and lead a best-in-class treatment program within a nationally recognized Recovery Community Organization (RCO) and help build a sustainable, peer-informed, and clinically integrated model of care.
This position will be instrumental in building the Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Outpatient (OP), and Partial Hospitalization (PHP) program from the ground up - guiding initial program design, obtaining necessary state approvals and accreditation, enrolling with insurance payers including Medicaid and Managed Care Organizations, and recruiting a multidisciplinary clinical team.

Facilitate regular clinical team meetings, case consultations, and quality review sessions.
Provide direct clinical oversight for complex cases, crisis management, and escalated situations.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Ensure programs maintain compliance with state, federal, and payer requirements for behavioral health services.
Develop and oversee clinical documentation standards, ensuring timely and accurate charting in the electronic health record (EHR).
Monitor performance metrics (e.g., treatment retention, patient outcomes, utilization rates) and implement continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Prepare for and lead site visits, accreditation surveys, and payer audits.
Integration with Recovery Services
Work closely with the organization's peer recovery support team, including housing and employment services, to create a seamless continuum of care from peer-led support to clinical treatment and back to community-based recovery.
Support transition planning for clients stepping down from PHP/IOP/OP into peer support and long-term recovery sustainment services.
Community Engagement & Partnerships
Serve as the clinical face of the program with community partners, referral sources, and healthcare systems.
Build and maintain relationships with courts, hospitals, mental health providers, and insurers to drive referrals and support integrated care.
Contribute to public education and outreach regarding treatment options and recovery support.
QualificationsEducation & Licensure
Master's degree or higher in social work, counseling, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or related behavioral health field.
Active Nevada clinical license (LCSW, LMFT, LCPC, or equivalent) required.
Qualified QMHP under NevadaMedicaid
Eligible or experienced as a Clinical Supervisor in Nevada preferred.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in behavioral health or substance use disorder treatment settings.
Demonstrated success in program startup, licensing, and/or accreditation (CARF or Joint Commission and SAPTA).
Experience with insurance credentialing, payer enrollment, and billing processes for behavioral health services, specifically provider types 93, 97, and 14.
Proven ability to hire, supervise, and develop clinical teams.
Knowledge of IOP, OP, and PHP program operations, including group therapy, individual counseling, assessment, and case management.

Work ScheduleThis is a full-time, exempt leadership position requiring flexibility to meet the needs of a clinical program startup and ongoing operations. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required. Work will be based at the organization's Las Vegas headquarters and treatment facility, with periodic travel to other sites and community partner locations.
EnvironmentOur employees work in a supportive and collaborative office environment. This position is full-time and based at our Henderson office. Foundation for Recovery will provide all the tools necessary to perform the duties of the position.

Summary
The Regional Vice President, Account Management MedicalDirector serves in an important externally facing role by partnering with National Account's Sales and Account Management teams in support of our National clients.
