• The Epi Forecasting Senior Epidemiologist will serve as a key contributor within the Epidemiology Forecasting Center of Excellence (CoE).
• In this contractor role, you will design and execute descriptive epidemiologic and pharmacoepidemiologic studies, characterize disease epidemiology, and provide actionable epidemiological insights to support Commercial and Business Strategy functions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and synthesize epidemiology literature; present findings clearly in written and oral form.
• Lead or collaborate on study development, including protocol creation and database analysis with claims and health record data.
• Partner cross-functionally to gather information, perform literature reviews, and prepare clear, concise data summaries and recommendations.
• Communicate study insights to epidemiology, commercial, and business partners, ensuring alignment of outputs with strategic needs.
• Apply a broad range of epidemiology research techniques-focusing on descriptive data such as incidence, prevalence, mortality, real-world treatment patterns, and diagnosed/drug-treated populations.
• Utilize diverse public and private epidemiology data sources, employing analytical tools for modeling and data visualization.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, clarity, and traceability in all deliverables.
Qualification & Experience:
• Advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD) in epidemiology, outcomes research, or related discipline. • Strong hands-on experience with epidemiologic methods and data sources.
• Proven ability to design and conduct global or regional epidemiology studies (population sizing, projections, patient funnel analyses).
• Experience working in consulting settings preferred.
• Skilled project manager with a commitment to high standards, clear communication, and on-time delivery.
Familiarity with large observational (public and private) data sources, standard of care research, and treatment pattern analysis.
• Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills for working across commercial and scientific functions.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to produce concise, actionable findings for diverse stakeholders.

Overview
Under direction, is responsible for professional scientific and epidemiological assessments of considerable difficulty; performs related work as required. An incumbent in this class manages data and conducts epidemiological evaluations and studies in communicable and environmental diseases and general population health. The incumbent also participates in making health and risk assessments and provides expertise to health department physicians, medical professionals, other departmental personnel and environmental regulatory personnel. This class differs from that of Epidemiologist 2 in that an incumbent of the latter is responsible for work of greater scope and responsibility and may supervise.
Responsibilities
* Monitors and reports incidences of diseases or events to local, state and federal agencies to understand the distribution of diseases throughout the state.
* Conducts basic descriptive epidemiologic analyses and reports findings to supervisor. Compiles, codes, categorizes, calculates, tabulates, audits and verifies information or data.
* Collects population based information from public health partners and stakeholders to ultimately reduce the incidence and spread of disease.
* Conducts surveillance activities for diseases and identifies health events. Identifies data sources that can be used to identify health related events.
* Provides guidance on standards and technical support to stakeholders or other groups on technical, systems, or process related topics.
* Participates in the design and evaluation of study protocols and health status questionnaires, sample selections and analyses. Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
* Participates in the development, design or creation of new applications, ideas, relationships, strategies, systems or products.
* Communicates epidemiologic findings of diseases and health events to stakeholders.
