UNIT SUMMARY: Levindale's High Intensity Care Unit, part of our Specialty Hospital, is a fast-paced and exciting place to work. The unit is comprised of 20 semi-private rooms, and can accommodate up to 40 patients. In the HICU, a team approach is taken to provide care for patients, who may require attention for an acute brain injury, need respiratory assistance or special monitoring, or require rehabilitation. HICU staff members are outgoing and positive, and must utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, implement clinical nursing interventions to modify symptoms, and develop and implement patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes. JOB SUMMARY: Provides safe, age-appropriate patient care, assisting with activities of daily living while maintaining a safe and clean environment. With guidance and oversight of the Registered Nurse, performs duties to support the daily care of the patient . REQUIREMENTS: Entry level knowledge; basic employment skills; High School diploma: GED equivalent or High School certificate. 1-3 years of experience. About the Role
Position Title: Certified Medical and Administrative Assistant

Position Summary: The Medical Assistant I is responsible for performing a variety of complex patient care and administrative activities to assist providers, patients and staff. This position also assists in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management and provides clinical training to other staff. This position is based at our Conway Health and Resource Center in SW. This is a full-time position.
The pay rate for this position ranges between $22.11 - $24.51 per hour and the offer amount is determined by the candidate's education, qualifications, and experience. Indeed provides their own estimated salary calculator and is not affiliated with COH's range.
Highlighted Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares patients for examination and treatment by taking the patient's history and vital signs.
Supplies provider with necessary forms and information to accomplish visit;
Cleans up exam and treatment and rooms after patient encounter;
Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments according to policy and procedure manual and/or as instructed by provider;
Provides nursing care to all patients including, but not limited to, EKGs, wound dressing, assisting providers with minor procedures, and administering nebulizer treatment to asthmatic patients as ordered by providers;
Does weekly checks of the emergency equipment cart and all supplies when assigned to this task;
Cleans, prepares, and autoclaves instruments used during procedures;
Observes, records, and reports patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physician;
Performs vaccine and medication administration on patients of all ages when ordered by a provider;
Responds to patient messages and prescription refill requests;
Attends clinic staff meetings and COH all staff meetings.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
A completed Medical Assistant Diploma and a Medical Assistant Certification from an approved nationally accredited association (AAMA - American Association of Medical Association or NHA - National Healthcare Association) are both required. MA Certification is accepted without MA diploma if experience requirement (minimum of one year) was met for the certification. This includes meeting renewal deadlines upon hire, and thereafter. We offer reimbursement for exam fees and additional CEU reimbursements.
BLS and CPR are both required.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
2 years experience in a medical office practice or hospital settings preferred. Experience in Primary Care practice preferred;
Commitment to work with underserved populations;
Ability to work in a non-profit environment;
Participation in appropriate continuing medical education.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Essential Education, Experience and Skills:

Approved medical assistant training program, means a program accredited by one of the following two-accreditation organizations:

2. The medical assistant candidate has completed an UNAPPROVED medical assistant training program AND
* Certification* is required.
