As EMTs, candidates can expect to be trained in all aspects of medical emergency response by hands-on practical application of medical emergency response methodologies, along with the opportunity to work towards 1200 hours of experience for Paramedic School (California). This is an unpaid Volunteer/Intern position for Active Duty Service members participating in the SkillBridge program prior to completion of military service. Internship is limited to 180 days, however amount of days will be based on unit command approval. Must be available to work 40 hour per week, schedule will be four, 10 hour shifts. Candidates must possess all of the required certs to be considered and must provide their own housing and transportation. May act as lead worker over other laboratory employees and laboratory trainees. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Experience: One-year equivalent to Clinical Laboratory Scientist I in San Joaquin County. Licenses and Certificates: Possession of a valid license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) issued by the State of California, Department of Public Health. Rate-out: A rate-out is an examination that involves a paper rating of the candidate's application using the following criteria: education, training, and experience. In addition, the Medication Technician will provide direct personal care, encourage residents to participate in activities, and work with housekeepers and maintenance staff in accordance with the company s mission, vision, and values. Responsibilities: Prepare and distribute medication to residents. Coordinate medication services with the resident, pharmacy, and physician. Order and track all medication changes, refills, and deliveries with pharmacies. Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential resident medication and care records. Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards. Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments. Qualifications: Prefer one (1) year of experience assisting with medication at a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE). Must be at least 18 years of age. A high school diploma or equivalent; a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is a plus. Must be able to operate MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.) Excellent customer service skills. Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs. Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families. Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests. For the health and safety of our team members and residents, Oakmont Management Group may require team members to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.
