We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our laboratory team in Boca Raton, FL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic tests in Alzheimer's Disease (AD)in a CLIA-certified laboratory, focusing on immunoassays, molecular tests, and operating automated analyzers. Key Responsibilities:
Perform Molecular Diagnostic Tests: Execute molecular diagnostics techniques, ensuring precision and compliance with established protocols.

Operate Automated Analyzers: Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot high-throughput automated analyzers used in molecular, immunoassay, and chemistry for clinical diagnostics to ensure continuous workflow and accurate results.
Sample Preparation & Analysis: Prepare and process clinical specimens for molecular testing, immunoassay, chemistry, and other clinical lab tests, following standard operating procedures (SOPs) for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases.
Quality Control & Assurance: Conduct routine quality control procedures, including calibration and verification of laboratory instruments. Ensure all testing meets internal and regulatory quality standards.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze test results and record findings accurately in laboratory information systems (LIS). Provide reports to physicians and other healthcare professionals as needed.
Data Entry: Enter results and data into lab system or other software with accuracy
Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), Troubleshoot issues with analyzers, immunoassay kits, and other lab equipment to prevent downtime and ensure high-performance operation.
Inventory & Reagents Management: Monitor inventory levels for reagents and supplies, ensuring timely ordering and restocking. Validate reagent performance before use in diagnostic tests.
Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all laboratory safety guidelines, infection control policies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., CLIA, CAP, OSHA). Participate in regular inspections and ensure readiness for audits.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on new technologies, methodologies, and advancements in clinical lab diagnostics. Participate in professional development and training sessions.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field. (Minimum)
Board certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP), or equivalent certification, required
Hold a valid licence from the Florida Department of Health through the Florida Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel
Experience:
1-3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory, with hands-on experience in immunoassays, molecular and automated analyzers required. Experience with high-throughput diagnostic environments is a plus.
Must have a Florida license for Clinical Chemistry

The blood bank issues more than 50 units a day and receives approximately 75 specimens per day. The transfusion service primarily supports an active surgical service as well as an oncology clinic.
The tech does flex to cover stat serology testing such as flu, mono, RSV, Rotavirus, bacterial antigens on CSF, and rapid MRSA screen using Cepheid GeneXpert.
Expected to complete Quality Control requirements of the section.

Position Responsibilities:
* Communicates at shift change and follows through on pending orders or problems from previous shift.
* Performs and documents Quality Control. Reports significant deviations to the supervisor/manager. Documents corrective action.
* Organizes work to maximize productivity and efficiency.
* Determines specimen acceptability and priority, taking action accordingly.
* Maintains a minimum inventory of reagents / supplies to ensure adequate patient care and sufficient supplies and reagents for the next shift.
* Recognize and take corrective action when equipment failure occurs, to minimize delays in patient testing.
* Call and document critical values or alert levels per department policy.
* Follow laboratory policy in regards to standard precautions, wearing of PPE, disposal of biohazardous waste, routine waste and sharps.
* Consult the supervisor, manager or charge tech to determine the appropriate course of action when unusual situations occur.
* Provides assistance to co-workers and/or works alternative shifts/hours as needed or requested.
* Teach and train staff as assigned. Performs charge tech duties in the absence of the manager.
* Addresses instrument flags prior to release of patient results. Monitors delta checks and takes action accordingly.
* Reviews work lists throughout the shift and addresses pending items.
* Cleans and decontaminates workstation, disposing of specimens, reagents, and confidential information as appropriate.
* Able to perform manual differentials in blood and body fluid
* Able to identify abnormal cells
* Knowledge of basic quality control trouble shooting
* Able to rotate in each section of Core Laboratory
* Knowledge of basic maintenance and instrument troubleshooting
* Understanding of CAP regulations for each area of licensure
Qualifications:
* Licensed by the State of Florida (or eligible) in Hematology, Chemistry, Serology, and Immunology - national certification preferred.
* Commensurate with licensure requirements
* Completion of training program in medical technology
