Primary Duties and Responsibilities
* Specimen Testing and Preparation - Performs documents and reports routine and specialized testing in assigned area. Correlates laboratory findings with disease stage integrates and relates data from other laboratory specialty areas. Confirms abnormal results and specimen discrepancies and institutes correct follow-up procedures. Completes patient care testing for specimens received in assigned laboratory section as outlined in the training and/or competency assessment documentation. Performs patient care testing on assigned specimens without supervision and/or director review for specimen processing test performance or result reporting unless specified and documented in the competency assessment or testing procedure. Utilizes judgment and discretion in considering sample integrity process calibration reagent concentration and stability quality control relationship to unknown results evaluation of unexpected patient results and error identification. Immediately notifies patient care areas and/or physicians of critical values and documents notification by following established policies and procedures. Evaluates specimen integrity and acceptability for test performance; obtains specimens for quantitative and qualitative analyses. Accessions specimens received in the laboratory in the laboratory information system. Utilizes computer appropriately for entry of results quality control specimen inquiry and patient inquiry.

Institutes corrective action and notifies supervisor of quality control problems. Reviews section SOP manual and ensures testing practices match SOP guidelines.
* Quality Assurance / Regulatory / Safety - Completes competency assessment within 90 days of hire and annually thereafter or as needed to meet all regulatory requirements. Actively participates in proficiency testing as assigned. Achieves satisfactory rating on proficiency testing results. As needed assists supervisor with any regulatory requests and/or inspections. Works collectively with co-workers to ensure laboratory meets and exceeds all safety requirements including but not limited to maintaining temperature charts equipment logs control materials laboratory cleanliness and transportation of hazardous wastes to the department's pick-up area. Complies with all designated safety policies and procedures in the work area including the use of applicable protective equipment when necessary to prevent exposure to potentially infectious agents.
* Customer Service - Complies with department customer service standards (i.e. answering phone within 3 rings identifying self to caller or customer in person promptly attending to customer needs).Ensures that turnaround time standards are met within the lab section. Always maintains a positive image when interacting with others outside of the laboratory. Proactively provide assistance to the outside department when needed.
* Equipment Maintenance and Inventory - Maintains equipment logs and performs routine calibration and preventative maintenance on instruments and equipment in accordance with established guidelines. Proactively contacts vendor & Supervisor when service is needed. Helps to maintain adequate stock of supplies as requested. Maintains inventory of reagents equipment and supplies necessary for the performance of testing in the assign area. Understands reagent stability and follows manufacturer recommended storage conditions. Assists in the evaluation of new procedures and equipment as requested.

Job Description
Location: Iraq
The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is responsible to provide comprehensive health services to DOS, DOD, and contractor personnel stationed in Iraq. The MLT performs lab tests and procedures, mostly comprising of microscopic, bacteriological, hematologic, immunologic, and chemical diagnostic analyses on samples of tissue, blood, urine, stool, synovial fluid and semen. The MLT looks for clues to the absence, presence, and extent of the causes and progression of diseases through accurate and efficient lab tests.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect and process biological specimens for laboratory testing.
Conduct routine and specialized tests in hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and blood bank.
Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot any technical issues.
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean laboratory environment.
Record and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
Collaborate with pathologists and other medical staff to interpret results and ensure quality patient care.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Actively participates in Mass Casualty exercises and events.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements/Certifications:
Minimum of 3 years recent experience as Medical Laboratory Technician including 6 months within the last year.
Certified as a medical laboratory technician through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), the American Medical Technologists (AMT), the National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCALP) or the Board of Registry of the American Association of Bioanalysis (AAB).
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Components of the new guest experience will include a state-of-the-art pavilion entrance, auditorium, iconic photo gallery, exhibition space, immersive walk-through attraction, retail, food and beverage, education center, archives, tours, and exciting new event space. The capstone of the renovation is a one-of-a-kind nighttime experience in the courtyard.
The Operations team provides an outstanding experience to everyone who comes to our headquarters, including visitors, donors, and staff. We are focused on planning for and operations of visitor experiences and campus-wide operations. The team is responsible for providing services that all staff rely on, including cleaning, mail and packages, office space management, building engineering, interactive technology, and sustainability.
Summary
This position reports to the Manager, Print and Fabrication Lab on all production and installation of museum exhibition graphics. Position works directly with the Director of Exhibition Design, to support planning and development of both internal and traveling NG exhibitions. This position supports the day-to-day operations of the print lab, and determines the schedule of projects to fulfill the need of many divisions within the Society and the public experience. The Production Specialist will work with Society staff as well as NG Partners staff. This position assists with the production of all Museum graphics and print production both internal and external, as well as vendors and contractors. The Specialist maintains society owned printers and fabrication equipment and supplies and provides an important service for many divisions.
This position will require evening, weekend, holiday, and/or non-standard work hours. (shifts fall within the 8am-8pm timeframe)

Responsibilities Include:
Prepares and manages the schedule of projects to fulfill the needs of the museum as well as many divisions within the Society. (20%)
Processes orders, prepares files and executes printing projects. Manage the production, printing, finishing and framing of all internal and traveling exhibitions, and prepare graphics for signs and other visual presentations for exhibits using photographic and inkjet printers. (40%)

What You'll Bring

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures that quality system manual and standard operating procedures (SOP) for lab analysis, lab safety, cleaning and sterilizing sample, and testing devices, sampling, sample preparation, sample preservation, sample chain of custody, equipment calibration and testing methods, and recording of test results are readily available and strictly adhered to;
Assures that the NELAC Institute (TIN) standard and appropriate lab safety standards are maintained for laboratory analysis and use of laboratory equipment with visible access to safety equipment, e.g., safety glasses, fire extinguishers, etc.;
Successfully completes bi-annual Proficiency Test for the target compounds required for the laboratory accreditation for the laboratory accreditation;
Successfully completes Demonstration of Capability analysis for each target analyte for the laboratory accreditation;
Completes the limit of detection of the target analytes for the laboratory accreditation;
Assures that appropriate safety standards are maintained for use of laboratory equipment with visible access to safety equipment, e.g., safety glasses, fire extinguishers, etc.;
Trains or advises laboratory staff and students to ensure that all lab equipment is calibrated and in working condition prior to testing, and troubleshooting laboratory technologies;
Keeps inventory of and ensures availability of lab supplies and reagents for use;
Prepares chemical reagents according to formulae and assumes responsibility for accuracy in the preparation and standardization of solutions;
Log all samples received and prepare them for analysis;
Performs digestion/extraction of all samples according to certified method and SOPs;
Operates and maintains ICP-MS, GC-MS, and LC-MS/MS and other laboratory instruments for accurate and precise test results;
Follows required aseptic techniques in dispensing and disposing hazardous wastes and base media, maintains technical records and prepares reports.
Teaches community education programs as needed.
Works effectively and collaboratively with the Director of the WRRI and other faculty and staff within the college and UDC as required for specific projects.
Performs other duties as assigned including research and special assignments related to the areas of responsibility as well as other needs of the college.
Minimum Job Requirements
The incumbent is required to hold a Master's degree appropriate to the laboratory work (soil, water, and chemical testing) within the EQTL.
A minimum of two years of experience in environmental laboratory work and environmental regulation and as an expert witness is required.
A doctorate degree/Ph.D. is preferred.

General Summary of Position
Performs specimen testing and analysis on patient samples to aid the clinician in providing patient care services.
