Responsibilities:?
Conduct analytical and physical testing on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products following approved test methods.
Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments such as pH meters, viscometers, and FTIR.
Accurately document test results in laboratory databases in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards.
Support manufacturing troubleshooting by providing analytical data, insights, and timely feedback.
Maintain laboratory cleanliness, manage chemical inventory, and ensure adherence to all safety and environmental procedures.

Collaborate closely with Production Teams, Product Engineers, and the Production Manager to ensure timely testing and product release.

The Medical Laboratory Scientist for Point of Care exists to oversee laboratory testing on patient specimens performed at the point of care and to provide information for the diagnosis, treatment or prevention of diseases. Maintains records of performance and utilizes independent judgment to oversee acceptable test results within quality control standards. May act as a key resource person for team members inside and outside of the department. Instructs team members on laboratory point of care procedures and techniques to ensure accurate lab results. Plans, organizes, and directs the daily point of care activities so all applicable regulations are met. Requires Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology or related sciences.
Requires one (1) year of relevant experience.
Requires certification or eligibility for board certification by ASCP; AMT; NCA or equivalent certification.

Failure to achieve would result in downgrade to MT-1 position until certification is achieved or loss of employment, dependent on business need.

Job Description
Location: Iraq
The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is responsible to provide comprehensive health services to DOS, DOD, and contractor personnel stationed in Iraq. The MLT performs lab tests and procedures, mostly comprising of microscopic, bacteriological, hematologic, immunologic, and chemical diagnostic analyses on samples of tissue, blood, urine, stool, synovial fluid and semen. The MLT looks for clues to the absence, presence, and extent of the causes and progression of diseases through accurate and efficient lab tests.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect and process biological specimens for laboratory testing.
Conduct routine and specialized tests in hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and blood bank.
Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot any technical issues.
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean laboratory environment.
Record and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
Collaborate with pathologists and other medical staff to interpret results and ensure quality patient care.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Actively participates in Mass Casualty exercises and events.
Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements/Certifications:
Minimum of 3 years recent experience as Medical Laboratory Technician including 6 months within the last year.
Certified as a medical laboratory technician through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), the American Medical Technologists (AMT), the National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCALP) or the Board of Registry of the American Association of Bioanalysis (AAB).
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
Experience on a military site working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor is preferred.
Education Required:

A Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing a full range of laboratory testing and reporting laboratory findings to physicians. The skills requirements for a Medical Technician I include: Occupational Specific, Technical Skills, Personal and Professional. Job Summary:

Qualifications:
Required:

MAIN FUNCTION:

Exercises professional judgement in order to prioritize and evaluate varying test requests efficiently. Responsible for the analysis of laboratory specimens and subsequent result reporting according to laboratory protocol and procedures.
Essential Functions:
Performs accurate and appropriate testing of specimens received in the laboratory, according to established laboratory protocol and procedures.
