Key Performance Areas Responsible for performing proper quality control procedures before proceeding with patient testing. Ensure that proper documentation including test report logs, quality control logs, equipment records, and all lab procedure and training checklists are completed on the correct time schedule. Will be responsible to ensure this is performed in central lab. Maintain adequate inventory of laboratory supplies. Place order with purchasing as needed. Perform technical laboratory procedures with accuracy and precision, meeting the standard of all accreditation/regulatory agencies. Perform instrument maintenance at the required times and as needed. Initiate troubleshooting procedures when instrument malfunction occurs and contact instrument service company, if necessary. Comply with established safety guidelines and maintains cleanliness of the laboratory and equipment. Complete any and all duties required to keep laboratory in compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies. Must be able to perform compliance testing. Maintain and ensure the confidentiality of all patient and employee information at all times. Comply with all Federal and State laws and regulations pertaining to patient care, patient's rights, safety, billing, and collections. Adhere to all AON and departmental policies and procedures, including IT policies and procedures and the Disaster Recovery Plan. Must maintain MLT license and required CEUs. Assist in training new employees to related job duties. Will be expected to work overtime when given sufficient notice of required overtime. The Simulation Lab is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to join our Medical Simulation team. This internship provides a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in both the technical and educational aspects of medical simulation. Interns will assist in the daily operations and facilitation of simulation-based training events, helping to create realistic learning experiences for healthcare professionals and students. In addition to supporting on-site simulations, the intern will also be able to work on mobile simulation projects deployed at various Parkview facilities and EMS service locations. A key component of this internship includes collaboration with the 3D printing team on projects that support simulation and medical training. Interns will learn how to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain simulation equipment, including manikins and supporting technology. They will also participate in scenario setup and breakdown and assist with technical support during live simulation events. Ideal candidates will have a strong technical understanding, good computer skills, and a willingness to learn new technologies. While previous experience with simulation or AV equipment is not required, it is a plus. The internship is best suited for students currently pursuing degrees in information technology, computer science, biology, health sciences, or pre-med. This role is designed for undergraduate or graduate students and may serve as a pathway to potential full-time opportunities in the future. About Sleep Disorder Center: The Goshen Sleep Disorders Center is an accredited lab by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and it is a member of the National Sleep Foundation. The Polysomnographic Technologist works under the general supervision of the clinical director or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in-center and out-of-center (home sleep apnea testing), diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. Position Qualifications Minimum Education: Successful completion of a polysomnography program of no less than one year duration associated with a state licensed and/or a nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a Polysomnographic Technologist. Hold either the RPSGT or RRT-SDS credential, provide evidence of completion of A-STEP or CoA PSG/CoA END/CoARC program, or completion of prerequisites leading to the required credential.
