The Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for performing technical testing in a laboratory area (chemistry, special chemistry, urinalysis, serology, microbiology, blood bank, or hematology/coagulation). The MT/MLS performs clinical diagnostic testing to aid physicians and clinical care team in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient. Required Qualifications: Education: B.S. degree in Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent from an NAACLS accredited institution, or B.S. degree in another science field and certification as required. Licensure: Certification as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathology MS (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP), or equivalent certification as MT. If a new graduate, certification is required within three (3) months.
