General Description Performs TB outreach work including home visits for TB skin testing, directly observed therapy and TB education. Performs data entry, venipuncture, fingersticks, hematocrits, and PPD skin tests. Assesses vital signs, (BP, Wt, Ht, Temp) and urinalysis. Measures visual acuity and ishihara screening, prepares lab specimens for mailing. Performs pregnancy tests, separates plasma from whole blood. Screens calls for nurses. Responsibilities Responsible for receiving and analyzing laboratory specimens and reporting results in a timely manner in accordance with Laboratory Policies and Procedures. Performs duties which may require both technical and professional judgment. Participates in Department's Quality Control, Quality Assurance, maintenance and safety programs. Maintains parts, reagents and supplies in areas assigned. May be required to evaluate new methods, participate in teaching, continuing education, and other organizational activities.
