Duties in this role include clinical sample preparation and collection from the clinic, processing, archiving, storing and sample management. Specifics: -Position: MLT/MT/MLS -Department: Lab -Location: Gateway Regional Medical Center 2100 Madison Ave. Granite City, IL 62040 -Position Status: Part-time -Work Schedule: 3rd shift, 8hr shifts, rotating weekends and holidays Education Qualifications: MLT candidates Required: Associate degree from a Medical Laboratory Technician program from an accredited institution, including courses in chemistry and biology; or Associate degree of at least 60 semester hours from an accredited institution, including chemistry and biology, plus 12-month structured curriculum in medical laboratory techniques (which may have been part of collegiate course); or Associate degree or equivalent from an accredited institution, including courses in chemistry and biology plus graduation from a military medical laboratory training program of not less than 12 months duration. MT/MLS candidates Required: Baccalaureate degree in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution; completed and approved ASCP (or equivalent) certification pathway; or have satisfied CLIA requirements for HEW certification. Have completed one year in an accredited laboratory training program. Certification Qualifications: MLT Candidates Required: Eligibility as a Medical Laboratory Technologist, MLT (ASCP), MLT (AMT), HEW, or CLS (NCA) or equivalent required for individuals having completed certification requirement in 2004 or later.
