Following the laboratory's procedure for specimen collection, handling, and processing, as well as test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of test results; Following the laboratory's quality control policies;

Minimum education and professional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:

Minimum 60 semester hours from a regionally accredited college, including chemistry, biology, and medical laboratory techniques, or an Associate degree in chemistry, biology or related science. Completion of clinical rotations in the areas of microbiology, urinalysis, chemistry and hematology; or Fifty week military Medical Laboratory Procedures course and meet qualifications for military enlisted occupational specialty of “Medical Laboratory Specialist”;
Registered Medical Technologists (M.T.) or Medical Laboratory Technicians (M.L.T.) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or other recognized certification agency of medical laboratory professionals preferred;

We are currently seeking an R&D Laboratory Technician Intern to join our team in Easton, PA. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience with all aspects of Research and Development practices.

College Level Math Skills.

Electrical Aptitude: Ability to safely work around electrical components of laboratory equipment.
Work Conditions: Laboratory facility. Process areas contain ladders, walkways, tight places, uneven terrain, and stairs, both inside and outside.
Work Hours: As agreed upon, based on intern availability and business needs.
Safety Training: A new employee hired to perform the duties of this position is required to be provided New Employee Training by a qualified individual or through the online training system. Additionally, an employee must be provided further training if a job duty/task has changes that will affect the health and safety aspects of that employee's position.
Additional refresher safety training will be required as management deems appropriate or as dictated by government regulations.

How you'll contribute
A Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) who excels in this role:
Applies technical knowledge and skills necessary to maintain procedural quality standards. Performs department specific waived, moderately complex and high complexity testing.
Serves as a General Supervisor with proper education requirements per CLIA regulation 493.1461.
Maintains and applies procedural knowledge necessary to deliver efficient, uninterrupted service while reporting test results within the specified time limits.
Performs calibrations, quality control, instrument function verification, scheduled preventative maintenance and minor troubleshooting according to section's procedure manual.
Recognizes, confirms and/or verifies test results that are unusual, delta failures or verify failures as described in the procedure manuals and informs the Medical Technologist, Coordinating Tech or Manager of all pertinent issues and unresolved problems.

What we're looking for
Applicants possess high school graduate and graduate from a one year medical laboratory or clinical laboratory training program approved by the ABHES, CAHEA or other organization approved by HHS. Additional requirements include:
Certification with American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or successful completion of certification within 12 months of employment.
