Job Summary and Qualifications

You Will:
Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing
Seek guidance from medical technologists, supervisors, department head, and medical director in the review and interpretation of clinical laboratory data
Complete all required records/documentation pertaining to patient results
Perform stat procedures, timed studies, and routine tests within established turnaround time targets
Review pending logs (OSR) and result logs; resolve any outstanding workload or communicates to staff relief
Perform quality control procedures per protocol and completes necessary documentation
Take pertinent corrective action when the patient, control, standard, calibration and/or proficiency results are not within appropriate guidelines
Assist supervisor in meeting department regulatory agency requirements (CAP, etc.)
You Should Have:
A 2-Year/Associate Degree in Science is required
A State of Florida Technician License OR the ability to obtain a license during the interview process
ASCP or similar certification is very helpful

Prepare and administer medications as allowed by state regulation to residents following established policies and procedures.
Accurately complete required documentation of medication administration at time-of-service delivery. Verifies identity of resident receiving medication and records name of drug, dosage, route, and time of administration on specified forms or records.
Review MARs immediately after administration of a medication and prior to end of shift to ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
Notify supervisor when making the decision not to administer a medication as ordered.
Communicate effectively at the end of shift relaying relevant and pertinent information regarding resident care, concerns, changes, and the like to oncoming/outgoing personnel.
Maintain security of medication cart and narcotic keys during entire shift. Conduct narcotic count at the beginning and end of every shift in accordance with company policy and procedure.
Observe residents and reports changes in resident's psychosocial and physical condition as well as any concerns, e.g., skin breakdown, rash, behavioral changes, speech change, change in appearance, etc., to Wellness Director.
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents. Ensure resident rooms are clean and tidy throughout each day and follows scheduled housekeeping tasks such as laundry as assigned.
Assist residents with activities of daily living, to include ambulation, transferring, showering, personal hygiene, incontinence care, feeding, reminders, and supervision according to the individual plan of care.
Gathering, engaging, and assisting residents in activities, conducting activities in groups or one-on-one with residents as requested. Encouraging residents to socialize and participate in planned activities and develop friendships with other residents.
Communicates professionally with physicians and third-party specialists, such as homecare providers, lab providers and hospice professionals.
Maintain the resident record daily following company policy and procedure.
Follow established safety protocols, including fire protection, infection control, blood borne pathogens, hazardous waste, and quality assurance procedures. Respond to all requests for assistance promptly and with a positive demeanor including emergency pull cords, telephone calls, and requests from family members or friends.
Report all complaints, grievances, suspicion of abuse and instances of abuse to the Wellness Director and/or the Executive Director.
Participate and attend Wellness meetings and required trainings to ensure compliance with all regulations and policies

Responsibilities:
Care Giver:
Responsible for a designated group of residents during the shift; knows where their residents are and physically checks on them throughout the shift.
Observes, reports and documents symptoms and conditions of residents for changes in condition such as skin, behavior, alertness, weight, dietary and participation in activities.

Follows re-fill process for medications.
Participates in the development of the Service Plan and monthly updates.
Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse and respiration rates.
Reports occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, sharp sticks and hazardous chemicals immediately.
Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Position Summary:
Shift: Tuesday - Saturday 6AM - 2:30PM
Responsible for daily specimen processing in the designated laboratory, including technical and non-technical duties.
Communicates with staff physicians and other staff employees regarding patient's specimen.
Works with management personnel to ensure efficient and technically correct systems and procedures in the laboratory that includes QA/QC of reagents, instrumentation, proficiency testing, etc.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, molecular or related field and/ or successful completion of a medical technology or related field Training program and has a minimum 1 year of related experience in the designated laboratory specialty is preferred.
Experience may be substituted for education as described by State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Personnel Statutes.

Our community is looking for a Care/Medication Technician to join our team.
The Care Giver/Med Tech role includes providing hands on care, physical and emotional support to each resident while maintaining a safe and comfortable home like environment.
Responsibilities:
Care Giver:
Responsible for a designated group of residents during the shift; knows where their residents are and physically checks on them throughout the shift.
Observes, reports and documents symptoms and conditions of residents for changes in condition such as skin, behavior, alertness, weight, dietary and participation in activities.
Responds to security system and resident call bells promptly.
Notifies supervisor and/or Health Care Coordinator if a resident has increased care needs.
Assists with continence management and disposes of all continence products properly to ensure sanitation of resident suite and community restrooms.
Serves and collects food trays and assists as needed; reports refusal of meals or loss of appetite.
Maintains cleanliness of resident's room and work areas.
Practices good standard care precautions of cleanliness, hygiene and health.
Helps residents maintain independence, promotes dignity and physical safety of each resident.
Actively participates/leads and assists residents with activities of daily living (i.e. bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, ambulation, transferring, eating) as instructed.
Engages residents in life skills and other life enrichment activities.
Greets and assists all internal and external customers, guests, family members, residents, vendors and team members.
Does resident laundry as assigned and needed.
Medication Tech duties:
Reviews service plan to learn pertinent information about residents.
Assists/observes medications and treatments for each resident using the medication observation record and the Six Rights of Medication Pass.
Documents and initials form as medications are given including appropriate documentation for refusal or missed doses.
Maintains confidentiality of all resident information including resident medication.
Reports all resident concerns made while assisting resident with the medication to the Nurse and/or Health Care Coordinator (HCC).
Restocks medication cart after all medication passes.
Assists in checking medication regardless of packaging system.
Counts all narcotics with another Medication Care Manager or Nurse each shift.
Maintains and cleans the Medication Room, med charts, treatment carts for neatness cleanliness, availability of medications and expired medications.
Follows re-fill process for medications.
Participates in the development of the Service Plan and monthly updates.
Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse and respiration rates.
Reports occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, sharp sticks and hazardous chemicals immediately.
Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications:
Certified Nurse's Aid certification preferred.
High School diploma/GED
Must be 18 years of age.
CPR Certification preferred
First Aid Certification preferred
Previous experience working with seniors preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Under general supervision, performs routine and complex molecular based laboratory testing, including next-generation sequencing (NGS), qPCR, and nucleic acid isolation
* Operates and maintains laboratory equipment needed to perform daily duties
* Performs daily QA/QC tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Molecular or related field.
* MB(ASCP) certification required.
* State of Florida clinical laboratory technologist license in the area pertinent to the testing being performed.
* Minimum 1 year of related experience in a clinical setting is required.
* Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook required.
* Valid state Driver's License for travel to satellite offices and offsite meetings. Compliance with the company Driver Safety Operations and Motor Vehicle Records Check Policy is required.
