Summary:
The Cath Lab Technologist is responsible for assisting in diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab. This role involves preparing patients and equipment, monitoring hemodynamic data, assisting physicians during procedures, and ensuring patient safety throughout the process. The technologist operates specialized imaging equipment, maintains sterile technique, and collaborates with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care. This position requires technical expertise in cardiovascular procedures, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations.
Essential Work Functions:
Prepare and position patients for cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, electrophysiology studies, and other interventional procedures
Assist physicians during procedures by passing catheters, wires, balloons, and stents, and operating fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
Operate and maintain imaging equipment, contrast injectors, and hemodynamic monitoring systems, ensuring proper functionality
Scrub in and assist with sterile field setup, ensuring adherence to infection control and procedural protocols
Perform sheath removal and hemostasis using manual compression or closure devices as directed
Maintain accurate documentation, including patient records, imaging data, and equipment logs
Assist with inventory management, stocking supplies, and ensuring proper storage of sterile instruments and medications
Adhere to radiation safety protocols, ensuring proper use of lead aprons, shields, and dosimeters
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements
Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice

Under general supervision, performs gynecological and non-gynecological examinations for cytopathological diagnosis, submits all atypical findings to the cytopathologist for review, performs quality control, and participates in quality assurance programs. May assist with waived, moderate or high complexity laboratory tests for the purpose of diagnosis and treatment of disease. May assist with maintenance, basic troubleshooting and repairs of laboratory equipment. Staff in this job description meet the qualifications for designation as Testing Personnel for moderate and high complexity testing under CLIA regulations. After one year direct clinical laboratory experience, may be delegated to serve in the role of General Supervisor for highly complex testing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Examines GYN and Non-GYN slides for cytological diagnosis of malignancies, infections, or other abnormal conditions, exercising independent judgment and responsibility. Refers all positive, suspicious, or significantly abnormal specimens to the cytopathologist.
2. Ensures validity and accuracy of test results; able to interpret acceptability of quality controls.
3. Monitors QC for trends and takes and documents corrective action as needed or directed.
4. Performs all troubleshooting procedures. Identifies testing problems and recommends appropriate solutions using defined guidelines.
5. Complies with all relevant agency s rules and regulations related to Cytology, specifically QC, workload, and technical qualifications.
6. Knows filing methods and can retrieve material for review.
7. Serves as a liaison with internal and external customers/employees/clients.
8. Participates in developing new test methodologies, new procedures, and new QC ranges as needed or directed.
9. Participates in regulatory inspections.
10. Assists with training of new staff and/or students.
11. If delegated by CLIA Medical Director (experience must be confirmed prior to delegation), performs the following functions as assigned:
a) Reviews and performs final approval for competency using approved methods (e.g. direct observation).
b) Reviewing proficiency testing results and implementing action plans with guidance from the medical director.
c) Compiling and reviewing quality control/quality assurance data with the medical director.

Duties & Responsibilities
Planning, research and development of specific health simulation scenarios for the various users of the simulation equipment. Also includes programming simulation mannequins.
Operation of the simulation equipment during scenarios, including reset and resupply between scenarios. Also includes time spent as a standardized patient (actor in the role of a patient) and student orientation.
Setup and clean-up of simulation activities including props to stage the scene, medical moulage, supplies used in the scenario, and basic preventative maintenance for simulation equipment.
Learning Space administration and utilization including creation of user groups and simulation events.
Individual Professional development and training of faculty and staff to use simulation equipment.
Performs other related duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

OR B. A full 4-year course of study that included 12 months in a college or hospital-based medical technology program or medical technology school approved by a recognized accrediting organization. The professional medical technology curriculum may have consisted of a 1-year post- bachelor's certificate program or the last 1 or 2 years of a 4-year program of study culminating in a bachelor's in medical technology. OR C. A Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree from an accredited college/university, including 16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) of biological science (with one semester in microbiology), 16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) of chemistry (with one semester in organic or biochemistry), one semester (one quarter) of mathematics, AND five years of full time acceptable clinical laboratory experience in Blood Banking, Chemistry, Hematology, microbiology, Immunology and Urinalysis/Body Fluids. This combination of education and experience must have provided knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of medical technology equivalent to that provided by the full 4-year course of study described in A or B above. All science and mathematics courses must have been acceptable for credit toward meeting the requirements for a science major at an accredited college or university. Acceptable experience is responsible professional or technician experience in a hospital laboratory, health agency, industrial medical laboratory, or pharmaceutical house; or teaching, test development, or medical research program experience that provided an understanding of the methods and techniques applied in performing professional clinical laboratory work. Certification/licensure as a medical technologist (generalist) obtained through written examination by a nationally recognized credentialing agency or State licensing body is a good indication that the quality of experience is acceptable. In compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), assists qualified donors in completing the screening process. The screening procedures includes but are not limited to: assessing the self-administered health history, answering basic medical questions associated with the donation process, referring donors to medical staff when appropriate and performing health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, temperature. Performs finger stick to obtain sample to obtain donor's hematocrit and total protein levels.
Upon completion of the appropriate training, may educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma. This includes explaining the screening process, the health screening tests performed, the appointment system, donation fees, center policies, proper nutrition and any other information pertinent to the donor. Ensure that all donor questions are answered timely, accurately and professionally.
May be involved in registering applicant and transfer donors based upon completion of appropriate training and operational needs of the center.
May answer the telephone and answer callers question or transfer call to appropriate staff member.
Maintain alertness and awareness to any reaction by a donor may have during or after the pheresis process and notifies appropriate staff.
Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
Ensure the accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as outlined in the SOPs.
Understand the policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
9 Maintains clean efficient work environment and ensures sufficient operating supplies and forms are available as needed. Follows all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures. Promote safety in all actions.

About Our Team
Department 1647 is responsible for measuring material properties at low to medium pressures (1-1000 kbar) using a wide array of capabilities. Department 1647 staff perform research on the STAR gas gun facility, the Saturn and Z pulsed power facilities, and the Nevada Test Site. Areas of interest range from fragmentation, properties of porous, energetic, nuclear, and advanced materials, National Missile Defense, and seismic measurements in the emerging threat arena. This department works collaboratively with the Shock and Z-Pinch Physics Department 1646, as well as with many other groups at Sandia and in the Department of Defense.

Summary:
The Cath Lab Technologist is responsible for assisting in diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab. Essential Work Functions:
Prepare and position patients for cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, electrophysiology studies, and other interventional procedures
Assist physicians during procedures by passing catheters, wires, balloons, and stents, and operating fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
Operate and maintain imaging equipment, contrast injectors, and hemodynamic monitoring systems, ensuring proper functionality
Scrub in and assist with sterile field setup, ensuring adherence to infection control and procedural protocols
Perform sheath removal and hemostasis using manual compression or closure devices as directed
Maintain accurate documentation, including patient records, imaging data, and equipment logs
Assist with inventory management, stocking supplies, and ensuring proper storage of sterile instruments and medications
Adhere to radiation safety protocols, ensuring proper use of lead aprons, shields, and dosimeters

Digital Model Assembly:
Interpret and assemble digital files (STL, OBJ, or proprietary formats) into the correct design and form for dental prosthetics.
Collaborate with dental technicians and CAD designers to ensure the digital models meet design specifications.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to digital file integrity or compatibility.
3D Printing:
Set up, monitor, and maintain 3D printers and other equipment used in the production of dental prosthetics.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery to minimize downtime.
Ensure precision and accuracy in the production process, adhering to industry quality standards.
Characterize prosthetics using optiglaze to achieve patients requested gingival color.
Quality Control and Ordering Supplies
