* Assume responsibility for participation in continuing education, professional development and required annual competency assessment.
* Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.
* Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the General Supervisor, Technical Supervisor, Clinical Consultant, or Laboratory Director.
* Function as an educator and provide instruction and training in theory, technical skills, safety protocols and the application of laboratory test protocols to students, employees, residents, etc.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:
* Bachelor's Degree in a Chemical, Biological, Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology from an accredited institution
* OR meet the CLIA qualifications for high complexity testing personnel grandfathering clauses
Preferred qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:
* Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT, MLT or MLS) or certification eligible from the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
* MLT or MT Generalist in Chemistry and Hematology

Job Description
Location: Iraq
The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is responsible to provide comprehensive health services to DOS, DOD, and contractor personnel stationed in Iraq. The MLT performs lab tests and procedures, mostly comprising of microscopic, bacteriological, hematologic, immunologic, and chemical diagnostic analyses on samples of tissue, blood, urine, stool, synovial fluid and semen. The MLT looks for clues to the absence, presence, and extent of the causes and progression of diseases through accurate and efficient lab tests.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect and process biological specimens for laboratory testing.
Conduct routine and specialized tests in hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and blood bank.
Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot any technical issues.
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean laboratory environment.
Record and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
Collaborate with pathologists and other medical staff to interpret results and ensure quality patient care.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Actively participates in Mass Casualty exercises and events.
Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements/Certifications:
Minimum of 3 years recent experience as Medical Laboratory Technician including 6 months within the last year.
Certified as a medical laboratory technician through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), the American Medical Technologists (AMT), the National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCALP) or the Board of Registry of the American Association of Bioanalysis (AAB).
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Must be able to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
Experience on a military site working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor is preferred.
Education Required:
Associate's degree in medical laboratory technology or related field.

Monitors proper inventory of reagents and supplies. Notifies proper person of supplies that are low or depleted. Stocks products upon receipt of shipment to ensure sensitive reagents are stored in proper environment.
Works in areas / departments of the lab as assigned, according to the needs of the schedule or according to the shift being worked. Maintains flexibility in scheduling and availability for meeting the Laboratory's needs.
Responsible for reporting any problems, irregularities, concerns or even opportunities for improvement, to the director or supervisors. These could be safety, patient care, compliance, or technical in nature.
Is capable of performing the responsibilities of General Supervisor (under CLIA) when assigned by the Medical Director and/or Laboratory Director. This includes, but is not limited to the following: selects or recommends test methodology that is appropriate for the clinical use of the test results; performs verification of test procedures performed and establishment of the laboratory's test performance characteristics, including the precision and accuracy of each test and test system; identifies training need, continuing education, and competencies of trained personnel; writes standard operating procedures such as on quality controls.

RN Invasive Cardiology Summary of Responsibilities: Care for critically ill patients in Cardiac Cath Lab undergoing Interventional Cardiology and Endovascular procedures. Will be assigned STEMI call with a 30-min. response time. Mandatory Qualifications: Must have Cath Lab Experience as well as preoperative/postoperative skills, and experience with monitoring and sedation of patients. Proficient with advanced hemodynamic monitoring such as IABP and IMPELLA. Experience with ventilator management a must. Required Licenses/Certifications prior to start: Valid RN licensure in the state of Ohio; ACLS and BLS from the AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION ONLY. Physical Environment: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently during the day. May need to stand for extended periods. See in the normal vision range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Ability to lift 250-300 lbs. with assistance. Ability to push/pull up to 500 lbs. with assistance. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids. Requires some exposure to chemicals and cleaning products. Network Access and/or applications needed: EPIC, XPER, Change Health Care.
Shift: 0630-5; 0700-1700, 0800-1800. Holidays and On-Call shifts to be assigned by unit rotation. Minimum call back for STEMI of 4 hours.
