Job Description
Location: Iraq
The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is responsible to provide comprehensive health services to DOS, DOD, and contractor personnel stationed in Iraq. The MLT performs lab tests and procedures, mostly comprising of microscopic, bacteriological, hematologic, immunologic, and chemical diagnostic analyses on samples of tissue, blood, urine, stool, synovial fluid and semen. The MLT looks for clues to the absence, presence, and extent of the causes and progression of diseases through accurate and efficient lab tests.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect and process biological specimens for laboratory testing.
Conduct routine and specialized tests in hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and blood bank.
Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot any technical issues.
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean laboratory environment.
Record and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
Collaborate with pathologists and other medical staff to interpret results and ensure quality patient care.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Actively participates in Mass Casualty exercises and events.
Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Basic Requirements/Certifications:

Maintain bottle, preservative, and cooler inventory; assemble outbound sampling kits with labels, COCs, and instructions.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education:
High school diploma or GED.
Experience/Qualifications:
6+ months in a lab, warehouse/receiving, healthcare, or similar high-accuracy data entry role.
Comfort with computers and data entry (LIMS or ERP), barcode scanners, label printers; basic MS Office/Google Suite.
Strong attention to detail; clear written/verbal communication; customer-service mindset.
Experience in environmental testing/TIC sample receiving or client services
