**Job Summary and Responsibilities** As our Medical Lab Scientist, you will be a critical diagnostic expert, performing complex laboratory tests to ensure accurate, timely results vital for patient diagnosis and treatment. Every day, you will execute a wide range of analytical procedures across various lab disciplines (hematology, chemistry, microbiology, etc.). You'll analyze specimens, operate/maintain instruments, interpret results, and conduct quality control, providing crucial data for clinical decisions.

+ Performs and reports waived, moderately complex, and highly complex test procedures on patient specimens adhering to the Section's Standard Operating Procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting Provides excellent patient care through clinical correlation of results, identification of patterns of bias, rapid notification of appropriate caregivers of critical values, and completion of testing within established turn-around-time limits
+ Acts as a 'group leader' by assisting other staff members in work duties as needed to ensure a smooth workflow in the department.
+ Ensures that major automated equipment is operational by performing required maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting procedures; including contacting of instrument vendor for assistance or repair. May receive or have extended instrument training to function as an instrument lead for the department. Trains new employees and students in the department. Performs required calibration and quality control procedures and maintains records to ensure tests are being performed within established parameters. Assists department Technical Coordinator or Supervisor in preparation of QC and calibration reports, ensuring that records are complete and accurate.
+ Performs proficiency testing as assigned and review results with laboratory clinical leaders
+ Assists Technical Coordinator or Supervisor with test or equipment validations. Helps with training, validation records and documentation.

Performs clinical laboratory tests; assists in preparing and maintaining lab reports and files; performs quality control and maintains laboratory equipment in proper working order in order to provide information for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Handles and disposes of biohazardous waste and prepares the biohazardous waste for disposal by an outside agency, maintains biohazardous waste disposal documentation, preparation of disinfectants;
2. Reads and records temperatures on instruments and performs corrective actions; culture organisms for quality control; and prepares media for cultures, plates, and prepares controls for RPR testing;
3. Performs quality control and maintains laboratory equipment in proper working order, including maintaining microscopes, centrifuges, water baths, incubators, autoclaves, etc., and maintains records of each, calibrates and documents lab thermometers annually or as needed;
4. Maintains inventory of laboratory supplies and informs laboratory manager when supplies are needed to be order;
5. Performs clinical laboratory tests, including performing microscopic examinations of samples, performing blood screenings for syphilis, preparing blood specimens for analysis by reference lab, maintaining records and reporting results, and maintaining a database for patient results; and
6. Complies with policies and procedures delineated in the current “Employee Handbook and Personnel Policies of Brazos County, Texas” and department supplements.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a non-supervisory position.

Responsibilities:
Exercises independent judgment and discretion in the performance of tasks with the understanding that the responsibilities are not routine or limited to resident care matters.
Administers medication and treatments as prescribed by physician. A monitor's response to existing treatment plans, aware of prominent medication interactions and side effects; monitors residents for occurrence of such and notifies HCC.
Adheres to community infection control policies and procedures relevant to medication/treatment administration.
Assists residents with medication as defined in medication procedure. Supervises residents who self-administer medication.
Exhibits understanding of and follows medication policies and procedures. Maintains residents' records daily in a timely manner and in accordance with company policy and procedure. This includes documentation related to medication distribution, leisure activities; incidents and observations; charting any changes in resident's physical condition and or behaviors, visitors, etc.
Observes and documents the health and emotional condition of each resident, promptly reporting all changes to the supervisor. Writes weekly/monthly summaries as assigned, addressing specifically the problems identified in the service plan. Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the medicine supply room.
Receives reports on all residents. Counts controlled substances with off going RMA, assumes responsibility for assuring accuracy of count before accepting keys.
Follows proper procedures in emergency situations and responds promptly and positively to resident requests for assistance - including emergency call pendants, telephone calls, and requests from family and friends.
Encourages teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers.
Requirements:
6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors
Certified Medication Aide preferred. Hourly rate higher if state certified.
Ability to communicate effectively with residents and colleagues.
High School diploma or G.E.D.
Ability to speak, read & write English.
Must be willing to undergo a routine background check.

What We Want
The Biocontainment Laboratory Senior Coordinator, under general direction, is responsible for coordinating and implementing non-research and research activities in biocontainment suites, conducting area decontamination, conducting safety drills, maintaining accurate records, and providing training while coordinating waste management within biocontainment laboratories.

Required Education and Education
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years of related experience within BSL-2, BSL-3, ACL-3, and/or BSL3-Ag environments.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Record keeping
Knowledge of federal, state, and local biosafety regulations, standards, and guidelines
Strong communication and organizational skills
A comprehensive understanding of requirements for proper biological laboratory operation
Ability to enter BSL-2, ACL-2, BSL-3, and ACL-3 laboratories to perform assigned duties.
Ability to enter ABSL-2, ABSL-3, and BSL3-Ag animal rooms and support spaces
Ability to respond to emergency calls during off duty hours.
Ability to complete internal Biological Safety training within 45 days of employment. Continued employment contingent on the successful completion of said training as determined by the Responsible Official and/or Biological Safety Officer and a favorable FBI Security Risk Assessment, as required to enter Select Agent laboratories.

Prior experience in an animal research facility.
Deep understanding of biocontainment protocols

Responsibilities
Laboratory and Animal Containment Operations- Coordinates and implements processes to ensure efficient running of non-research or research-related activities within the biocontainment suites, including waste removal, autoclaving waste, laundering scrubs, testing emergency equipment, maintaining general lab cleanliness (cleaning counters, sweeping, mopping), checking and restocking PPE, and organizing containment spaces as necessary. Assists with animal and laboratory inventories and ordering, checking expiration dates, and conducting periodic audits of inventories. Coordinates, schedules, and performs large-scale decontamination of labs using hydrogen peroxide vapor or other whole-room decontaminants. Assists with preventive maintenance and annual reverification of biocontainment areas. Assists in liaising with TAMU Biosafety and EHS for annual inspections, and addressing findings as needed.
Training Design, Planning, and Implementation- Assists with drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of biosafety, security, and incident response plans, assists with detailed reports, and makes suggestions regarding program improvements based on drill results. Coordinates and provides biosafety, security, and operations training of research and support staff within the BSL-3 laboratories or BSL3-Ag animal rooms/support spaces, including hands-on training on entry and exit procedures; care and use of powered air purifying respirators (PAPRs), autoclaves, and biological safety cabinets; proper record-keeping procedures, etc.
Policy and Procedure Support- Provides input and guidance on the development of policies and procedures for the operation and maintenance of biocontainment laboratories. Assist with developing and implementing SOPs and other activities as assigned by leadership, and performing routine review of SOPs.
Other Requirements and Factors
Ability to maintain the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, which may include communications systems, computer networks and systems, cybersecurity systems, electrical grid, hazardous waste treatment system or water treatment system.
This position is security sensitive.
This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TAMU policies, regulations, rules and procedures.
All tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and University safety requirements.

This job has a potential for safety hazard exposures and infectious disease exposures and requires the ability to work under challenging conditions (high humidity/temperature, unpleasant odors, animal excreta and noise). Job Description
Position responsible for assisting physicians in the Cath lab as part of a team who performs both diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac procedures being proficient in all aspects of Cardiac Cath Lab procedures and requiring little to no supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or
Graduate of an academic program of health sciences or invasive cardiovascular technology required; If employee has been credentialed as an RCIS by the CCI since 2013 or earlier, formal education is not required
Licenses/Certifications:
Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support and one (1) of the following required:

JOB SUMMARY
:
Technical Supervisor, Laboratory Services provides leadership oversight to pre-analytical, specimen collection, specimen processing and/or laboratory support areas. As a leader in these areas, the supervisor must be an expert in specimen identification, specimen integrity, specimen accessioning and the best laboratory practice. Supervises the daily operations of a Laboratory Division or major function of a Clinical Laboratory. Possesses the technical and leadership skills to supervise personnel; coordinate operations, organize and improve workflow for the division; and communicate with staff, management, and senior leadership.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
:
· Responsible for recruitment, hiring, orientation, training, supervision, evaluation, competency assessment, coaching, disciplinary action
and/or termination process of divisional employees.
· Supervises daily and technical operations and quality management activities for the division.
· Supervises the work of laboratory personnel engaged in performing routine and specialized technical procedures, including planning
laboratory work, evaluating work performed, and handling procedural and technical laboratory problems.
· Develops, reviews, and revises policies and procedures in accordance with departmental, hospital, and regulatory standards.
· Coordinates review and revision of the Laboratory Test Directory.
· Responsible for ensuring that the laboratory division functions with the appropriate level of staff to guarantee an efficient operation.
· Reviews and evaluates accuracy of lab data and reports patient results with all required documentation.
· Ability to work independently within established guidelines, apply problem-solving skills, meet deadlines and meet urgent patient,
provider, and system needs.
· Assists personnel with complex procedures, exercising independent judgment and responsibility.
· Responsible for all Quality Management activities including but not limited to evaluating quality of reported test results, quality control
and equipment maintenance procedures, proficiency testing and verifying appropriate documentation is maintained and corrective
actions are implemented as necessary.
· Participates in the establishment and implementation of the quality assurance and continuous process improvement program including
quality monitors, incident reports, corrective actions, and documentation.
· Responsible for developing, evaluating, and implementing all new procedures, reagents, systems, and instruments for use in the division.
· Prepares financial reports and works closely with division leadership.
· Maintains a sufficient inventory of material supplies and equipment for the performance of daily duties.
· Ensures staff comply with requirements for continuing education and verifies documentation for departmental records.
· Communicates pertinent information to staff members, management, medical directors, and other divisions.
· Performs routine laboratory procedures/tests as needed.
· Instructs and trains students.
· Available to cover different shifts if requested to guarantee patient care.
· Responsible for maintaining compliance with regulatory accreditation standards.
· Adheres to all safety protocols in each laboratory area.
· Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure established for department.
· Performs other related duties as required.
