Ensure lab supplies such as chemicals and pipets are replenished regularly.

Calibrate lab equipment daily and perform other routine tasks.
Receive phone calls from various parts of the dairy and plant, multitasking to ensure products and samples are processed correctly and efficiently.

Minimum Education:
* High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum Experience:
* Experience preferred but newly NYSED Clinical Laboratory Technologist qualified individuals considered.
Required Certification/Registration:
* ASCP preferred.
* NYSED Clinical Laboratory Technologist license or eligible required upon hire or transfer. If not licensed, NYSED permit required within two months of hire, and NYSED Clinical Laboratory Technologist license required within one year of permit issuance.

The QC Laboratory Technician performs duties in both an office and manufacturing environment with majority of time in the QC Laboratory.
Must be able to see, sit, stand, bend, and reach. Ability to operate general office equipment (computer, phone, calculator, copier, etc.) and lift up to 35 lbs. required.
Must adhere to General Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and wear appropriate PPE when in the Manufacturing plant and exposed to loud noise, hot/cold temperatures and wet floors.
Pay: $21 USD per hour*
Shift: Evenings (2pm - 10:30pm) & Overnights (10pm- 6:30am) with Saturday and Sunday work requirement every other week plus holidays.

About the Position
Assists in set up and maintaining of all parameters of the plating operations. Maintains a deposition of plating of the highest quality for superior marketability and fewer defects.
Assist Plating Operators and Utility Workers in ongoing training.
Run daily analysis on varied plating processes to ensure proper concentrations and additions.
Perform tests, as well as daily data entries to files on baths and various plating properties.
Perform various plating baths analysis such as surface tension, brightener, pore count, concentration, stress & tensile testing, pH adjusts, etc.
Trouble shoot various plating process issues using laboratory techniques.
Operate and calibrate equipment such as electric metering pumps, pH meter indicator, X-ray, etc.
Perform plated adhesion tests per customer required specification.
Complete internal sample submission testing and reports.
Test and report on the quality of internal and outside plating process.
Sign off parts release to McGard.
Must complete D.O.T. hazardous material training and hazardous material emergency response training (HAZWOP).
Run test racks on the R & D plating line.
Requirements:
High School graduate or equivalent.
Strong math and mechanical aptitude.
Understand and execute routine written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
Able to communicate effectively in English both written and verbally.
Proven record of exemplary attendance.
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Regular use of a respirator. Must pass Respirator Protection and Fit Testing.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Background of Chemistry education and/or experience.
Experience in a lab setting (i.e. knowledge of equipment and procedure).

Duties and Responsibilities:
Sets up, adjusts and operates laboratory equipment and instruments including but not limited to Microscopes, IR Analyzers, pH meters.
Conduct tests to determine chemical/physical and microbiological characteristics for raw and finished products using established SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
Perform sensory analysis on ingredients and finished products to ensure conformance to regulatory and customer quality requirements.
Record all test results on standardized forms, and complete data entry into appropriate systems.
Responsible for release of fluid product for loadout, batch blend, and/ or packaging lines.
Responsible for communicating any out of specification test results and/or other quality issues to appropriate production and/or QA management as necessary.
Directs incoming tanker trucks to the appropriate receiving bay as required and notifies appropriate production personnel.
Operate the truck scale to ensure accurate weights of incoming and outgoing fluid loads for payment.
Generates Bill of Lading and Certificate of Analysis for outgoing bulk tanker loads.
Performs calculations including: adjustments for standardizing Evaporated Milk tanks to meet the Regulatory Standard of Identity and product specifications.
Provide administrative support during off hours such as answer incoming switchboard calls and security check in/check out of visitors/vendors.
Performs other related duties as required by QA Management.
