Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications. B. Able to maintain competency in performing test procedures and report test results promptly, accurately and proficiently. Evaluations will be performed using the following competency observations. 1. Direct observations of routine patient test performance, including patient preparation, if applicable, specimen handling, processing and testing; 2. Monitoring the recording and reporting of test results; 3. Ensures that test selection and reference ranges are appropriate for the age of the patient. 6. Performs duties with minimal supervision, showing appropriate independent judgment. D. Ensures timely availability of laboratory results. 1. Organizes work and work area for efficiency of performance. 2. Performs work with sufficient speed to allow acceptable turnaround time of results. 3. Demonstrates good productivity as judged by efficient use of time and volume of testing and other duties performed. 4. Prioritizes work appropriate to relative importance and critical nature. 5. Immediately reports and documents critical values. E. Ensures the quality of analyses through quality control, quality assurance, and maintenance activity. 1.
