Hired students will not be eligible to assist with lab assignments if currently enrolled in the corresponding lab course. Preferred Qualifications: The student should have a familiarity with automobiles and automobile engines and systems or be currently enrolled in an AUTO program. Have basic knowledge of hand tools and their use. Able to lift/move components weighing up to 50 pounds. Comfortable wearing eye/ear protection when required. Able to work outside in seasonal temperatures. Able to follow and complete detailed instructions without continuous supervision. Able to recognize and alert faculty when assigned tasks are beyond capability. Able to recognize and alert faculty/staff of a potential safety concern. Professional Development Students employed by Columbus State are exposed to professional work environments where they develop many of the important transferable skills necessary for future success in the workforce. All Tier/Level III positions are automatically enrolled in this program.
