This position will work part-time, 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm; Monday - Friday with a weekend rotation.

1. Performs pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical diagnostic testing on blood and other biological specimens using automated and non-automated instrumentation as per established procedures. Includes proper patient ID, specimen preparation and dilution. Assess and correlates test results before reporting. Processes specimens and prioritizes tasks in order to meet expected turnaround times.
2. Performs and documents quality control and quality assurance data. Documents all quality control failures and corrective actions taken. Reports documentation to supervisor/manager for review. Participates in proficiency survey testing program.
3. Performs and record routine daily maintenance and resolves minor problems. Notifies section manager of all problems and action taken.
4. Keeps work area clean and orderly. Follows all safety policies and procedures. Prepares and labels reagents, controls and stock solutions. Helps maintain supply inventory.
5. Performs phlebotomy and EKG's as assigned. Prepares specimens for distribution to work areas. Processes microbiology specimens as required. Prepares specimens for transport to reference laboratories.
6. Performs clerical and computer tasks and procedures as required.
7. Participates in orientation of new employees and students.
8. Performs calibrations as assigned. All documentation reported to supervisor for review.
9. Participates in the updating of procedure manuals.

Lorain County Community College (LCCC) is hiring a Part-Time Fab Lab Laboratory Instructional Assistant (LIA). The LCCC Super Fab Lab is a digital maker space that is part of a global network. The Fab Lab enables users to create physical objects directly from digital designs using computer-controlled tools. The lab offers lasers for cutting & engraving, vinyl cutters, CNC routers, 3D printers, electronics workbenches, and more. It serves a diverse user base through courses, open lab hours that are available to the public, camps, workshops, and community outreach activities.
Reporting to the Coordinator(s) of the Fab Lab, the LIA will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Inspire, train, and support users of all ages and experience levels during credit courses, open lab, and other lab related activities.
Assess user needs and adapt instruction to support their learning of the tools, software, and fabrication processes.
Enforce lab policies, safety protocols, and standard operating procedures.

Help maintain the cleanliness, organization, and security of the lab.

Position Description:
• Maintains proficiency in and follows documented analytical procedures and program to provide QC testing in the Grain Inspection Laboratory.
• Follows all Laboratory and Company rules/guidelines, including Safety, GMP, and Personnel policies.
• Communicates any unusual problems or developments relative to product quality to the QC Lead Technician or Site Supervisor.
• Answer internal phone calls regarding product concerns.
• Meet deadlines.
• Perform duties related to the Grain Inspection Laboratory as required or directed by the Site Supervisor or Team Leader
• Identifies and reports problems with equipment or procedures to shift leaders, and assists in regular maintenance of equipment.
• Read and understand all procedures that pertain to testing being performed.
Job Requirements:
• Three positions available:
Saturday and Sunday 12:30pm to 11:00pm for the part time position for 20 hours each week
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday from 6:30am to 5:00pm for 40 hours each week
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6:30am to 7:00pm for 30 hours each week
Pay: $14.50 per hour
