Minimum 60 semester hours from a regionally accredited college, including chemistry, biology, and medical laboratory techniques, or an Associate degree in chemistry, biology or related science. Completion of clinical rotations in the areas of microbiology, urinalysis, chemistry and hematology; or Fifty week military Medical Laboratory Procedures course and meet qualifications for military enlisted occupational specialty of “Medical Laboratory Specialist”;
Registered Medical Technologists (M.T.) or Medical Laboratory Technicians (M.L.T.) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or other recognized certification agency of medical laboratory professionals preferred;

The laboratory work involves dealing with Copper, Aluminum, Titanium, and Superalloys and Steels, Specialty alloys and engineered materials.
To get familiarized with the RAW MATERIALS (like Copper alloys, Aluminum alloys, Titanium alloys, Superalloys, Specialty steels and any other materials that Weldaloy deals with in Ingots, billets, bars etc.) and the customer flowed down requirements for these materials. (Via Purchase orders, Drawings, Specifications, and any other documents).
Operate equipment for sectioning, mounting, and polishing for preparing metallographic samples for the regular standalone mounted samples. Need to also etch the prepared metallographic specimens and develop etching techniques too. The prepared and etched samples are to be examined using optical microscopes and take photomicrographs and make digital pictures of microstructures at different magnifications as required and also affixing the micron markers. Machinist skills and CNC programming experience desirable.
Similar techniques as above need to be used to do microstructures at some specified spots on the forged parts or the raw materials. This is called “in-situ metallography or “Spot metallography” or “Spot microscopy.”
Assess the grain size of the microstructure and understand the microstructures of some standard regular materials.
Required to also prepare samples for Chemical and mechanical testing too.
Multitasking while performing prep work and analysis efficiently.
Work with Engineers and other Managers on projects.
Familiarizing with AMS2750G, pyrometry, NADCAP requirements regarding forge and heat treatment, and laboratory functions.
Raising Corrective Action Reports (CARs), conducting and advising corrections for implementation.
Plan and schedule tests under the supervision of Laboratory Supervisor & Metallurgist.
Ability to learn and operate testing equipment (like chemical, mechanical and metallographic) and perform testing per standard procedures. Record all data and results in a specified manner per instructions from the Laboratory Supervisor & Metallurgist and/or Chemist.
Ability to successfully operate laptop computers for spreadsheets, charts and report writing (Microsoft Office and Outlook).
Maintain laboratory environment in a safe, clean, and orderly manner.
Work with customers on an as-needed basis within the scope of job requirements.
Systematic receipt, labeling and analyzing and maintain identity and traceability of laboratory samples. Safe storage and retrieval of samples as per customer requirements.
Organize and store all chemicals substances, fluids, and compressed gases according to safety instructions.
Conduct failure analysis investigations on various forms of failures.
Participate in New Process and Product Development (NP2D).

Key Responsibilities:
The candidate will be available for sample evaluation during their scheduled shifts, which may include evenings and weekends.
The candidate will assess the diagnostic quality of the sample slide and submission information in a timely manner (~15 minutes).
The candidate will evaluate technician appropriate sample submissions in a timely manner (~15-30 minutes).

Position Summary
The Emergency Services Lab Assistant supports the planning, preparation, maintenance, and safe operation of Emergency Services training labs and scenarios. Working closely with faculty and program leadership, this position ensures that instructional spaces, equipment, and materials are organized, functional, and compliant with safety standards and program objectives. The role contributes directly to high-quality, hands-on learning experiences that prepare students for success in fire service, emergency medical services, and public safety careers.
Primary Responsibilities
1.
Lab Preparation, Maintenance, & Safety
* Prepare, set up, and dismantle training props, materials, and equipment for fire, rescue, and EMS labs.
* Inspect, clean, and maintain tools, apparatus, and facilities to ensure safe and functional operation.
* Test and service oxygen systems, fire-ground props, and other pressurized or specialized training equipment following established safety procedures.
* Maintain inventory, track supplies, and report repair or replacement needs.
* Operate college vehicles and hand or power tools as required for training-site setup and material transport.

Instructional & Program Support
* Provide logistical and technical support to instructors during labs and simulations.
* Orient students to safety procedures and proper equipment use.
* Assist with demonstrations and lab resets between class sessions.
* Support outreach, recruitment, and community-training activities when scheduled.
* Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students to coordinate lab operations and ensure readiness.

Minimum Qualifications
* Education - High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Experience - One (1) year of related experience in emergency services, fire science, or equipment maintenance.

* Skills - Strong organizational and time-management skills to coordinate multiple labs and schedules, and effective communication skills to collaborate with faculty, staff, and students. Problem-solving skills to address equipment, scheduling, or setup challenges. Mechanical aptitude to inspect, clean, and maintain specialized equipment. Attention to safety, detail, and accuracy in all lab preparations.
* Abilities - Ability to lift, carry, and set up training equipment and supplies safely; follow detailed written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety procedures; work independently as well as part of a team; maintain composure and professionalism in active training environments; and support a culture of safety and respect in all lab activities.

We are seeking a Lab Coordinator to support research on the role of nutrition in the regulation of muscle growth. Works with the Pl, Postdoctoral Fellows, and technical staff to investigate the effects of premature birth and dietary interventions on protein synthesis, intracellular signaling, and metabolism. Responsibilities
Animal Research and Laboratory Work
Conducts animal research studies using neonatal pig models, including surgical procedures, husbandry, clinical care, and specimen collection.
Performs analytical work on collected specimens using biochemical, cellular, and molecular biology techniques to assess protein synthesis, nutrient signaling, and cell growth.
Executes cellular and molecular assays such as Western blotting, ELISA, and RT-qPCR for quantifying protein and gene expression.
Conducts biochemical assays including colorimetric, fluorometric, and HPLC-based methods.
Data Management and Documentation
Documents experimental procedures accurately.
Analyzes and summarizes data from research studies to support findings and publications.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry or other scientific discipline or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); two years full-time laboratory experience; and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required. Working knowledge of advanced scientific techniques and procedures as well as the ability to make statistical calculations, analyze results, prepare reports and perform specialized tests also required. General Working Conditions
This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, positioning self and occasionally ascending/descending, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-15 pounds.
