Functions in a charge or lead role as assigned for the days operations to ensure safe quality and efficient workflow, practices, staffing and operations. * ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Performs, assists and accountable for various clinical laboratory test procedures and ensures proper maintenance and operation of instrumentation. * Exercises professional judgment in the performance of laboratory procedures. * Provides patient care essential to laboratory procedures. * Recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and reports to provider. * Performs other duties as assigned. * LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS * Certification as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist in all disciplines by the Board of Registry of the American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP). * CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire for identified job roles. * MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or equivalent. * Six to twelve months of laboratory training/job experience necessary in order to become familiar with a variety of laboratory testing procedures. * Knowledge and experience preforming phlebotomy required. * Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with physicians, nursing personnel and other clinicians relative to patient testing and information gathering. * Ability to resolve technical problems using standard guides and procedures. * Analytical skills necessary in order to perform and interpret routine tests and recognize abnormal/critical test results. * Must be able to determine the appropriate course of action for abnormal, atypical or critical test results. * Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and other Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) software preferred. * Ability to travel. * WORKING CONDITIONS * Laboratory service areas have work environments with frequent exposure to physical discomforts due to unpleasant odors from specimens and chemicals. Accurately completes all workflows, charting, scoring, documentation, and necessary scanning in the patient EMR and sleep study system for each patient encounter.
Assists with scheduling of patient visits & procedures, reminder calls, filling vacancies from cancellation list, and proper tracking of patient reschedules, cancellations, and no shows in the EMR.
Promptly reports any facility cleanliness, maintenance problem, safety hazard, equipment malfunction, supply issue, patient complaints, patient or staff injury, security concern, infection control issue, etc. to management and the appropriate supporting department.
Completes all required continuing education in compliance with credentialing body, Sleep Center and hospital accrediting bodies, and BSMH policy.
Performs other tasks deemed necessary by manager to facilitate customer service or business operations including shift, work schedule, department, or location change.

Prepares specimens, records for in-house and outside laboratory procedures, and records lab results.
Performs monthly control procedure on all laboratory equipment in accordance with OSHA and CLIA.
Tracks laboratory results for missing reports and follow-up on missing reports.
Maintains daily statistics for laboratory procedures.
Conduct mandated lab review with designated accrediting agency.
Train on Banner and MediCat software platforms.

Skills and Experience
Minimum 1 years' experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment
Complex computer skills required, including the ability to administrate a system, interpret error codes, defragment hard-drives, replace power supplies, interpret computer codes, and apply networking concepts
Ability to integrate information from a variety of sources
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Strong written, verbal, and presentational communication skills
Valid driver's license required; variable travel requirements depending on primary site that may require use of personal vehicle

What You Will Do: The Clinical Laboratory Technician is responsible for andrology and endocrinology procedures, maintenance of computer-generated logs and reports related to patient testing and billing, and other lab related duties. The clinical laboratory technician participates in quality assurance and improvement activities on an ongoing basis.
Provide andrology service, including semen analysis, IUI preparation, and cryopreservation to clinical laboratory patients.
Provide endocrinology services using the Cobas 411 analyzer and the associated LIS.
Process samples according to Lab protocols for testing, transportation, storage, requisition forms, and transmission of electronic data..
Maintain clean/sanitary work environment and follow bloodborne pathogen handling/disposal procedures per OSHA regulations.
Participate in Quality Assurance activities, per laboratory management and quality team.
Maintain HIPAA and Confidentiality for all patient and clinic information, HIV confidentiality, and ensure to protect computer access.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring:
Bachelor of Science/MT/MLT required
1+ years' experience in clinical lab setting
Andrology (sperm count, motility, and morphology), and/or endocrinology with the Roche analyzer experience preferred.
Experience with laboratory software preferred.
Strong basic math skills, computer skills, procedural discipline, and attention to detail are essential.

Skilled in ophthalmic terminology, ability to type words accurately with speed and knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system; may be required to Scribe for Physicians if needed.
Reviews patient's past and current medical and ophthalmic history, including information regarding medications, allergies and family history of eye problems.
Identifies any potential patient concerns and brings these issues to the attention of the Office Coordinator or Physician as appropriate.
Ability to measure and record both distance and near visual acuity and pinhole acuity; performs preliminary refraction using objective equipment.
Ability to measure intraocular pressures by applanation tonometry, pneumatonometry and/or use of tonopen and checks pupillary response to light and pupillary defects.
Performs basic visual field testing and patient education as directed by Physician.
Ability to prepare patients for treatments and minor procedures; measures and records vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rate) as required.

Keeps examination, treatment, laser and any other assigned rooms cleaned and stocked with supplies, medication logs and inventories up to date.
Become certified for photography services required for study participation.
