Medication Technicians are an essential part of our wellness team by administering medications to residents in a safe, accurate, and timely manner under the supervision of a licensed nurse and general direction of the Wellness Director.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Prepare and administer medications as allowed by state regulation to residents following established policies and procedures.
Accurately complete required documentation of medication administration at time-of-service delivery. Verifies identity of resident receiving medication and records name of drug, dosage, route, and time of administration on specified forms or records.
Review MARs immediately after administration of a medication and prior to end of shift to ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
Notify supervisor when making the decision not to administer a medication as ordered.
Communicate effectively at the end of shift relaying relevant and pertinent information regarding resident care, concerns, changes, and the like to oncoming/outgoing personnel.
Maintain security of medication cart and narcotic keys during entire shift. Conduct narcotic count at the beginning and end of every shift in accordance with company policy and procedure.
Observe residents and reports changes in resident's psychosocial and physical condition as well as any concerns, e.g., skin breakdown, rash, behavioral changes, speech change, change in appearance, etc., to Wellness Director.

Essential Job Functions:

* Provide excellent patient care by performing physical examinations, diagnosing and treating diseases, and providing preventive care according to patient signalment, lifestyle, and environment.

Other Duties and Responsibilities
* Participate in rounds as incoming or exiting doctor at beginning and end of shifts.
* Disseminate knowledge throughout staff to improve the level of care and communication provided hospital partners, to both the patient and the client.
* Performs additional duties as assigned.
Nature of Supervision:
In all activities related to the care of individual patients, the Veterinarian will take direct supervision from the Hospital Medical Leader or Area Medical Director. The Veterinarian has discretion related to decisions regarding patient care, however, it is imperative that the Veterinarian uphold the standards set forth in the Petco Veterinary SOPs. The Veterinarian should expect to receive direction and guidance based on electronic medical record review from the Hospital Medical Leader or Area Medical Director regarding patient decisions and should accept such feedback as a means to elevate patient care in the hospital.
All hospital veterinarians should work together in a collegial fashion and are expected to behave in a professional and personable manner.
Planning and Problem Solving:
Problem solving is at the heart of veterinary medicine, and it is expected that any successful candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills that allow expeditious diagnosis of patient problems.

This position will impact the organization by contributing to the growth of a productive practice while focusing on a high-quality standard of care. From an overall hospital organizational standpoint, this position is critical to ensuring that we have a cohesive, well-trained, and motivated team. Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, however, as stated above the Veterinarian is a de facto leader in the hospital.
Education/Experience
* Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
* Active licensure as a veterinarian without contingencies in the state in which the hospital is located or ability to obtain by start date.
* Current DEA license.
* Current Controlled Substance License, if applicable, in state in which the hospital is located or ability to obtain by start date.
* USDA Category I (minimum) Accreditation or completion within two months of hire date.

Education

A state of Florida laboratory license in the designated area is required, and an MT(ASCP) or MT(AMT) license is preferred.

Care Giver:

Counts all narcotics with another Medication Care Manager or Nurse each shift.
Maintains and cleans the Medication Room, med charts, treatment carts for neatness cleanliness, availability of medications and expired medications.
Follows re-fill process for medications.
Participates in the development of the Service Plan and monthly updates.
Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse and respiration rates.
Reports occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, sharp sticks and hazardous chemicals immediately.

Under general supervision, performs routine and complex molecular based laboratory testing, including next-generation sequencing (NGS), qPCR, and nucleic acid isolation
Operates and maintains laboratory equipment needed to perform daily duties
Performs daily QA/QC tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Molecular or related field.
MB(ASCP) certification required.
State of Florida clinical laboratory technologist license in the area pertinent to the testing being performed.
Minimum 1 year of related experience in a clinical setting is required.
Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook required.
Valid state Driver's License for travel to satellite offices and offsite meetings. Compliance with the company Driver Safety Operations and Motor Vehicle Records Check Policy is required.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
Resolve and document any problem specimens
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8pm-12am
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
1-2+ years relative experience (lab/accessioning, production/manufacturing/warehouse environment) is a plus
Data entry or ten key skills required
Comfortable handling biological specimens
Ability to accurately identify specimens
Experience working in a team environment
High level of attention to detail
Proficient in MS Office
Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
Ability to pass a standardized color blind test

This position requires a broad skill set that focuses in three major areas: technical support, classwork and research. Support: Consulting with the appropriate personnel regarding the purchasing of A/V equipment
Laboratory set-up, as appropriate; preparing lab activities
Providing technical support for Professors' computers
Converting video files to different formats to DVD
Reforming manuscripts into styles appropriate for journal publication
Updating software on the lab computers in the MMS Caples lab
Submitting Help Desk tickets to IT for computers in the MMS Caples lab as appropriate
Maintaining a collection of equipment to loan to students/faculty
Assisting students with the use of software for their homework, such as SuperLab, SASLAB, SAS, SPSS, Clan, Chat
Troubleshooting student/faculty issues with common software packages, such as Microsoft Office
Liaison between MMS and several sites at which students and/or professors collect data
Classwork:
Providing lectures on recording, dolphin and manatee vocalizations, analysis, etc. as part of classes
Teaching students various forms of sound analysis on a one-to-one basis
Assisting thesis students, as appropriate
Putting together assignments/instructions for students
Compiling data/datasheets for students
Serving as proctor in the absence of Professor
Research:
Conducting literature searches on various topics
Searches classes and policies at other schools for curriculum design
Running statistical analysis on collected data
Recording of manatees, dolphins and other animals
Conducting extensive dolphin vocalization analysis
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with an area of concentration in psychology, biology, or related field.
Familiarity with experimental design and the research process; scientific research skills; statistical skills, preferably with SAS and/or SPSS; experience APA-style formatting; experience troubleshooting basic computer issues; general familiarity with technology; and fluency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Powerpoint and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
Training in dolphin and manatee acoustic analysis; familiarity with audio recording/AV equipment; experience with a wide range of experimental software the MMS faculty may use, such as SuperLab, Avisoft SASlab, CLAN and CHAT
