How you'll contribute: * Conduct laboratory tests including sample preparation, including whole blood centrifugation and plasma processing. * Perform DNA extractions for molecular testing. * Perform molecular biology techniques such as real-time PCR and Next-Generation Sequencing. * Maintain accurate and detailed records of test results. * Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including conducting routine maintenance and troubleshooting as needed * Follow established laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing. * Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies, including documenting instrument maintenance and calibrations performed. * Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including handling hazardous materials and waste disposal procedures * Collaborate with other lab technicians, scientists, and healthcare professionals as needed. * Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications. * Assists with training and mentoring junior lab technicians. Qualifications * BS biology with proven record of working in molecular biology lab. * Demonstrate skills in technical data interpretation and ability to troubleshoot. * Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. General working knowledge of the internet for business use, and skilled in operating office equipment.
