Job DescriptionDescription: The Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting laboratory tests in chemistry, hematology, and immunology to provide critical information for patient diagnosis and treatment. This role involves receiving, testing, and accurately recording all samples while ensuring the quality and reliability of laboratory results. The technician maintains compliance with laboratory protocols and regulatory standards, reporting overall laboratory operations and administration to the Technical Consultant and/or Laboratory Director. Maintain logs, run controls, and ensure all lab activities comply with CLIA/COLA and other regulatory standards. Confirm lab orders, release results accurately, and communicate critical or abnormal findings to appropriate personnel. Follow all lab safety protocols, maintain a secure environment, and uphold patient confidentiality and legal standards. Perform other administrative and laboratory-related duties as assigned to support clinic operations, including assisting with inventory management, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with laboratory safety protocols. Utilize and understand essential LIMS requirements for sample preparation batching and tracking. Perform basic Instrument maintenance and repair as needed. Utilize LIMS functions including generating work lists, obtaining updating job status and data approval. Perform preparation of analytical standards. Maintain all required documentation with accuracy and clarity. Read, understand and perform all applicable laboratory SOPs as written. Perform initial and annual Demonstrations of Capability. Maintain familiarity with quality control measures and calculations required for applicable methods. Ensure laboratory glassware is properly cleaned and maintained. Follow all JEL Safety, Ethics and Quality practices. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Required to operate one or more instruments on a day-to-day basis.
