Demonstrates knowledge and theory behind instrumentation. Diagnoses laboratory instrument malfunctions, and decides when back-up methods must be initiated. Operates all instrumentation in assigned areas and performs all technical procedures. Evaluates and/or develops new test procedures, monitors them for unexpected problems or sources of error. Researches, reviews and write technical procedures. Collects and controls laboratory specimens. Assures the quality and timeliness of patient results by investigating any problem involving specimen collection, results reporting and turn-around times. Recognizes unexpected results, errors and problems with patient test. Identifies the technical instrumental or physiologic cause, such as patient variable or interfering substances. Maintains and communicates department records of tests performed, test results and equipment maintenance. Assists in the overall operations of the laboratory including utilization of resources and laboratory safety regulations. Maintains regulatory and safety compliance (i.e. CAP, AABB) in area of responsibility. Assumes primary responsibility for accurate and timely completion of all testing performed within all areas of responsibility. We are currently looking for a Microbiology Technician to join our growing team! JOB SUMMARY Prepare samples for analytical and microbiological testing of food products, ingredients, and environmentals. The role is responsible for the application of approved microbiological techniques and methodologies used in analytical testing. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES * Prepare samples for indicator organisms, pathogens, and chemistries * Apply aseptic techniques in daily workload * Maintain media and reagents as needed for daily microbiological testing * Inventory and report expendable supplies/materials needed for testing requirements * Provide routine preventive maintenance by daily cleaning, sanitizing, and trash disposal * Perform quality control monitoring by taking incubator temperatures, inoculating control organisms, running media controls, etc. * Independently pursue an assigned series of processes, procedures, or techniques in accordance with FSNS policies/procedures and customer requirements * Maintain laboratory condition, to include equipment, supplies, quality assurance programs, and accurate records throughout all procedures * Perform all activities in a neat, safe, hygienic, and efficient manner * Share information in an open, and timely manner * Assisting with managing priorities and schedule such that individual goals as well as team goals are achieved with encouraged participation in the Food Safety Net Services Team * Responsible for the safety of oneself and others working within their area * Responsible for the completion of required training MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * High School diploma or GED * Associate degree in Life Science or two years of laboratory experience, preferred * Broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of a food testing laboratory * Ability to travel is preferred * Or equivalent combination of education and experience PHYSICAL DEMANDS * Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and to handle other communications/computer components * Potential exposure to odors, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, and microbiological pathogens * Noise level varies from quiet to loud * Temperature varies from hot to cold * Interactive and fast-paced team oriented tasks * Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. * Color vision and depth perception BENEFITS * Progressive 401k Retirement Savings Plan * Employer Paid Short- Term and Long-Term Disability, and Life Insurance * Group Medical * Tuition Reimbursement * Flexible Spending Accounts * Dental * Paid Holidays and Time Off * Many positions which qualify for the company bonus program Tuesday-Saturday 2 PM-10:30 PM

You'll contribute to the safe filling of cylinders, adhering to regulatory standards and maintaining compliance. Safety, precision, and adherence to procedures are essential to this role. Safely fill cylinders with mixed gases in accordance with regulatory requirements. Pure gas filling and the preparation of device and specialty gas mixes. Handle liquid gas tanks, always ensuring compliance with OSHA, FDA, DOT, ISO, and Airgas regulations and policies. Safety will be a top priority, as you'll adhere to Airgas SOPs during the loading and unloading of cylinder gases. Your attention to detail and compliance will contribute to maintaining a safe and effective lab environment. ________________________Are you a MATCH? High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in industrial operations is a plus. Previous experience in plant operations, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
