Perform specimen processing tasks including A-station, presort, pickup, delivery, imaging, centrifugation, and aliquoting.
Enter data accurately and efficiently (6,000 keystrokes/hour).
Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with test regulations.
Maintain specimen organization and handle various specimen types correctly.
Adhere to safety protocols in a biohazard environment.
Meet productivity and quality standards in a production setting.
Communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
Keep work area clean and organized.
Demonstrate flexibility with shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Education/Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Prior laboratory experience preferred

Position Overview
Under the general supervision of the Charge or designate, the General Duty Medical Laboratory Technologist is responsible for clinical analysis and reporting on patient samples according to established protocols. The General Duty Medical Laboratory Technologist is also responsible for assisting in general lab projects such as SOPs, chemical inventories, etc. The incumbent will maintain a safe environment in accordance with professional and provincial guidelines and ensure compliance with quality assurance programs and maintain standards put forth by Accreditation. Functions are conducted in accordance with the Mission and Values of Shared Health Diagnostic Services, current policies, procedures and applicable legislation.
Experience
Previous related experience preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory Technology program.
Successful completion of the CMLTM Prior Learning Assessment process for a discipline specialty, as deemed by the Employer may also be considered.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
Current registration or eligible for registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Manitoba (CMLTM) required.
Current membership with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) considered an asset.

THE ROLE: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
AHA's Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing a full range of laboratory testing and reporting laboratory findings to physicians. AHA's MLT must meet the Personnel Responsibilities per CLIA Sec. 493.1495: Standard Testing Personnel Responsibilities. AHA's MLT must follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results. Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens. Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed. Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance. Can identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the technical supervisor, clinical consultant, or director. Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.
Produce and report appropriate laboratory results in hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, automated chemistry, and automated immunology.
Perform, interpret, and record quality control data in all departments.
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on instrumentation as prescribed in procedures.

THE ROLE: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
AHA's Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing a full range of laboratory testing and reporting laboratory findings to physicians. $7500 sign on bonus (external candidates only)

If so, LabCorp wants to speak with you about exciting opportunities to join our team as a Technologist in Tampa, FL in the Microbiology/QFT department. In this position you will work in a fast paced, customer focused, and challenging environment, and will be a part of our overall mission at LabCorp: "Improving Health, Improving Lives".
Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm and rotating every 3rd weekend. Some holidays required.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
Assist with processing of specimens when needed
Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or a non-traditional Bachelor's degree that meets local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements
A minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience with human specimens is required OR an MLS degree
Florida State Medical Technologist (MT) license in Microbiology is required
ASCP, AMT or ABB certification is preferred
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus
High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
