Temp Flexibility in work time is needed. This position may be required to work between 4pm and 2:30am for 10 hours per day Monday-Friday plus 6am and 4:30pm for 10 hours per day Weekends. This individual is responsible for setting up mixing tanks and blending machines for production support of the production lines per instructions from the department supervisor in a manner that is timely and safe in accordance with all quality standards per batch mixing work orders and mixing instructions. This individual will also fill drums with blended product when needed. This individual will work with minimal supervision but also contribute to a positive team atmosphere. Responsibilities also include safe operation of equipment (mixers, scales, meters, pumps, forklifts, etc.), raw material handling and measuring, communication with material handlers, and sampling of raw materials for the purpose of providing Certificates of Analysis, updated SDS and other documents for the Lab Technician. This position also provides input to the Blending Manager on process improvements within the facility. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma and/or equivalent work experience. Previous experience mixing / blending chemicals. n/a Highly dependable. Ability to think through minor problems and work with management to solve larger problems. Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English, including safety rules, operating procedures, product recipes, material identification, etc. Able to manipulate 55 gallon drums of chemicals. Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Able to perform these operations using weight and volume measurements. n/a Able to drive a fork lift - have a valid fork lift certification. Attention to detail and good mechanical skills. POSITION JOB DUTIES Ensure all safety policies and procedures are adhered to in the plant. Works with minimal input from the Senior Compounder. Sets up and start all mixing tanks and blenders. Product line support. Obtains and understands all documentation for making batches. Ensures correct ingredients are used for each batch. Accurately adding chemicals/ powders into blend tanks and ribbon blender tanks in predetermined quantities. Operates equipment (mixers, scales, meters, pumps, forklifts, etc.) safely. Monitors raw material usage on each blend are added correctly with right weights. Ensures all raw materials returned to inventory have the right quantity and information on containers and containers are in good condition. Follows lab instructions regarding logging of samples to Quality, batch approval, adjustments, and any additional requirements.

Job Purpose This position will be responsible for conducting material tests and writing reports on components submitted to the Materials Laboratory of traditional and electric driveline and motor products for light and commercial vehicle markets. Other duties include, but are not limited to the following. Job Duties and Responsibilities * Operate bandsaw and abrasive cutting saws, grinding and polishing equipment, digital cameras and microscopes, spectrometer and other analytical equipment such as hardness testers, tension-compression equipment and other advanced analytical equipment. * Perform routine and non-routine materials and failure analysis related to manufacturing, product, supplier and customer concerns * Interpret and summarize test results, observations and photographs in a formal laboratory report * Become proficient with laboratory equipment and test methods (e.g. hardness testing, microscopes, scanning electron microscope (SEM/EDS), mechanical testing, spectrometer, FTIR, x-ray diffraction, environmental testing, etc). Examples of tests that may be performed: include mechanical properties of metallic and non-metallic materials, hardness, chemistry, environmental testing, x-ray diffraction and other miscellaneous tests) * Learn, and apply, basics of Dana products, including design, specifications, function, materials and testing of various Dana components * Learn, and apply, materials and materials processing used on Dana components * Use hand tools and measuring tools * Maintain laboratory equipment, equipment verifications, calibrations and housekeeping * Responsible for completing other engineering projects as assigned Qualifications Desired: * High school diploma required. Associate degree or higher in an Engineering, Science or Automotive related Technology field preferred. * Manufacturing or laboratory experience in automotive or ferrous metalworking preferred * Experience in ferrous metallurgy field (e.g. steel, iron, heat treating, forging, welding, etc) preferred * Knowledge of non-ferrous metals, plastics, elastomers, adhesives, welding, paints, and lubricants is preferred but not required. * Knowledge of laboratory testing such as hardness, tension-compression, fatigue, corrosion testing, chemical analysis and microscopic evaluation * Must be able to work overtime occasionally during the week or weekends as needed.
