The Allied Health School CLS Program Director for the Cedars-Sinai Allied Health School (AHS) within the Cedars-Sinai Health Sciences University (HSU) is an educational leader in the CLS field and provides subject matter expertise in the administration of the academic program. Able to work in all basic functions of a CLS in the main lab, blood bank and microbiology. Performs quality control procedures for routine and stat testing of patient samples. Maintains records; performs and records instrument maintenance; troubleshooting instrument and sample problems; regularly utilizes the lab computer for various aspects of daily work; verifies completion of work using the computer. Checks in Pathology specimens, corrects any incomplete orders and verifies proper preservatives. Regularly utilizes the laboratory computer for various aspects of daily work. Verifies completion of work by various computer programs. Familiar with all pertinent computer procedures and contingency procedures. Verifies that all assigned work is completed 100% of the time. Communicates with nursing and other hospital personnel, regarding laboratory procedures, results, etc. Communicates in a clear, courteous and professional manner. Reviews new and existing policies and procedures according to established protocols.
