MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Room patients, obtain vitals and update basic health information in electronic health record (EHR).
Review and complete daily tasks such as scanning, completing referral requests, answering phones, prior authorizations and handling medical records requests as requested by nursing management.
Log all medications administered in appropriate logs, ensuring that all are accounted for against proper inventory accounts.
Prepare exam rooms for patient visits by sterilizing and cleaning surfaces, and restocking supplies.
Document all care provided and interactions with patients in the EHR.
Process patient referrals for specialty care and follow-up, as needed, to ensure quality specialty care was provided.
Complete data entry.
Work in a collaborative manner with medical case managers to ensure that patient paperwork is completed.

Key Responsibilities
Greet and check-in patients, verify medical history, and update their information.
Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
Perform diagnostic tasks such as taking vital signs, drawing blood, and administering injections.
Prepare examination rooms and ensure equipment and supplies are stocked and ready.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (EMR).
Coordinate and schedule patient appointments, including follow-ups and referrals.
Educate patients on treatment plans, medication protocols, and preventive care measures.

Assist with inventory management and clinical supply ordering.

Position Requirements
Education & Licensure:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of a Medical Assistant program strongly preferred.
Maintain current BLS/CPR certification.
Experience & Skills:
Experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
Phlebotomy experience is a plus.
Ultrasound experience is a plus.
Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to empathize with patients.
