The Family Health Centers of Baltimore (FHCB) is a Community Health Center/ Federally Qualified Health Center (FHQC). We are seeking a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) who can work on a part-time contractual basis. The position is responsible for creating and strengthening all clinical operations and protocols that meet FQHC program requirements. The position is funded for a maximum of twenty hours per week (.5 FTE) and does not provide health care benefits. An annualized salary will be paid out on a bi-weekly basis in accordance with the health center’s established payroll policies and procedures. The selected individual will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CMO) and will work as a contractual member of the health center’s executive team.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Ensure clinical compliance with all HRSA/BPHC program requirements per FQHC status.
· Direct and oversee all daily aspects of the health center’s clinical functions.
· Monitor and improve the health center’s clinical standards of care through appropriate performance benchmarks and goals.
· Strengthen and Monitor clinical policies and procedures, quality initiatives and practice guidelines.
Provide consultative support to the CEO regarding the management and performance monitoring of a small number of provider staff that include doctors, dentists, mid-level providers and clinical support staff.
· Collaborate with Credentialing and Privileging Company to ensure that all initial and renewal provider credentialing and privileging is completed per HRSA/BPHC requirements.
· Collaborate with Risk Manager Professional to enhance, monitor, and oversee the health center’s Quality Assurance / Quality Improvement activities.
· Collaborate with Deputy CMO to enhance, oversee, and report results of peer review.
- Report on health center clinical operations and benchmarks to the Board of Directors on a monthly basis.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Doctor of Medicine degree or Advanced Licensed Nurse Practitioner with board certification and ability to practice in the state of Maryland. Primary Care provider background is preferred.
- A minimum of five (5) years in progressively responsible healthcare leadership roles, preferably in an FQHC environment.
· Experience with utilization review, quality management, and physician practice management.
Other Skills & Abilities: Proficiency with electronic health record systems, general computer applications and Microsoft Office is required.
