The MedicalRecords Support Specialist also fulfills requests for medicalrecords on behalf of patients, insurance companies, and attorneys. The MedicalRecords Support Specialist provides coverage for the MedicalRecords Specialist regularly and performs duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the department and practice.
Essential Functions:
Collects documents from designated areas and scans into the electronic health record
Delivers faxes and other critical documents to clinical staff and other departments
Works the nurse's queue to rename and file documents into the electronic health record
Prepares outbound mail for pickup, including weighing, stamping, and special handling
Opens, sorts, and delivers inbound mail to mailboxes and various departments
