This position is responsible for managing multiple appointments with the DVM, greeting clients, obtaining medical history, medical data entry, client education, discussing treatment plans and ensuring that the exam room area of the hospital is clean and presentable at all times.
Candidates must have excellent skills in the following areas: data entry, medical terminology, client service, sales, communication, and multi-tasking. We are looking for someone with a great attitude, an outgoing personality, a high level of computer proficiency and exceptional communication ability. WHAT IS A MEDICAL SCRIBE? A medical scribe is a trained documentation specialist who charts patient encounters in real-time. Medical scribes are exposed to medical procedures, terminology, anatomy, and physiology. They work in hospitals or clinics to improve documentation and allow physicians to treat patients more efficiently by handling electronic health records and documenting visits. They oversee the information technology aspects of running a medical office and complete clerical tasks related to communication and recordkeeping. They accompany physicians during their rounds and manage medical documentation by summarizing patient interactions.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Accompany physicians in recording and documenting patient visits and procedures accurately.
Create and review medical charts for accuracy and completion under practice guidelines.
Assist in completing charts by transcribing results of patient and doctor consultations.
Record diagnosis, discharge, prescriptions, and/or follow-up instructions.
Perform other duties as assigned by the practice manager or physician.

The Crisis Recovery Center will transform crisis care by providing 24/7 walk-in behavioral health services meant to immediately identify, triage, address, stabilize and treat persons in mental health crisis and assist those who have substance abuse withdrawal needs.
Summary:
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) plays a crucial role in supporting the delivery of high-quality client care. This position will work in coordination with the integrated care team. This CMA is responsible for the assisting healthcare providers with clinical tasks, ensuring efficient client flow, and enhancing the overall client experience. The CMA will provide compassionate and professional care and help to create a welcoming and supportive environment.
Job Duties:
- Take and record vital signs and any other important clinical information into the client record.
- Assists with daily activities related to client care including specimen collection, documentation, performing tests and screenings.
- Administers specific medications under the direction of the prescriber.
- Updates the medical record accurately with client information including medication changes and allergy information.
- Maintains equipment and tracks, orders, and cleans medical supplies.
- Ensures exam rooms are clean and well stocked.
- Assists team with pre-visit record collection.
- Performs client outreach and follow-up calls.
- Assists with client documents and prior authorizations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School or GED required
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
- Proficiency in taking vital signs and performing basic clinical tasks.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Must be able to respond to emergencies within the building.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must possess a valid Certification in Medical Assisting. Computer skills including familiarity with Windows and Word applications required. Basic Life Support (BLS) required or able to obtain within first 30 days of employment.

Regulatory Requirements
