What You'll Do
Administer medications, as prescribed, and under the direction of a licensed nurse
Promptly report to the nurse, a resident's request/need for PRN medications.
Promptly report to the nurse any adverse or concerning reactions to medications.
Provide exceptional Personal service and daily care to residents.
Communicate effectively with residents, staff management and families.
Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures.
Provides physical resident care to include all aspects of personal hygiene and grooming.
Answers call lights in a timely manner and responds accordingly to the resident's needs.
Assists in maintaining acceptable nutrition for residents and documents meal intake, as prescribed.
Knows proper technique for first aide.
Completes documentation of medication administration.
Assists in maintaining a therapeutic environment for the residents.
Motivates and encourages resident involvement in the participation in activities.
Assists residents to and from activities.
Lifting, turning, and re-positioning residents as needed.
Any other duties as assigned or delegated by the Director of Care or Designee.

WATERPARK
This role is generally reserved for majors such as Park & Recreation or Sports & Event Management but is open to anyone. Associates in this department must complete a Red Cross lifeguard certification program. A Waterpark Intern could be involved as a Lifeguard, Waterpark Maintenance or Park Keeper.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant Licensure required.
2. The CDCA is required to have the following skills: clinical interview methods; individual, and group therapy methods.
3. Ability to develop and implement treatment plans.
4. Skills in crisis intervention and emergency services.
5. Specialized knowledge of the substance use field.
6. The ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
7. De-escalation skills.
8. The ability to establish and maintain clinically effective relationships with clients.
9. Ability to meet agency requirements for criminal background check.
10. Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license in accordance with County policy and must maintain motor vehicle liability insurance, must maintain continuing eligibility under the existing County driver eligibility standards.
11. Ability to function as part of an organization by working with others and by adhering to established policies and procedures.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: Valid Ohio Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistance Licensure.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Be knowledgeable of and adhere to all pertinent federal, state, and local laws, standards of the Ohio Department of Mental Health, and appropriate professional ethical standards. Two years experience preferred.

What does a CMA at Sagora do?
Administer and accurately record administration of medications as prescribed by a resident's physician(s) in accordance with company policy and applicable state and federal guidelines under supervision of a nurse
Obtain, record, and report resident vital signs
Manage supply of medications
Provide accounting for all medications ordered, received, stored, and administered
Care for the personal needs, safety, and comfort of our residents
Assist residents with activities of daily living including wardrobe, personal hygiene, and mobility
Aid in daily tasks such as housekeeping, use of telephone, laundry, transportation, and mail delivery
Observe and report changes in residents' condition and status
Conduct rounds to monitor for hazards or incidents
Assist in dining including escorting residents to dining room, serving, and clean up
What do you need to be a CMA?
Must be certified as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) and meet the state s specific certification requirements
The ideal candidate will be caring, organized, and able to multi-task
Six months of work experience in a retirement community setting is preferred
Candidate must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively with residents, families, guests, and other associates in English
