Implement provision of social services to families, e.g. assess family needs and develop an individual family plan, monitor and update ongoing family plans, assist parents in making contact with appropriate community resources and provide information on community resources to families. Evaluate student and parent interests, needs, and develop and implement a plan of student and parent education activities. Make home visits and/or telephone calls as needed to maintain communication with parents regarding attendance, school programming, services and activities. Performs casework service with parents as an integral part of the task of helping students, to increase the parents' understanding, their constructive participation in resolving their child's problems and their knowledge and use of appropriate resources available. Serve on site-based student/family service groups and committees as needed. Participate in staff development activities as assigned.
