Job Details The Histotechnician/Histotechnologist performs laboratory tissue testing according to established procedures and protocols. The Histotechnician/Histotechnologist receives, processes, and prepares tissue samples for diagnosis using such procedures as embedding, microtomy, staining, cover-slipping, Immunohistochemistry and special stains. Job Description Performs all paperwork, technical, and non-technical procedures required to process and submit specimens Assigns specific computer generated identification numbers, checks for accuracy, and records all items processed Forwards accessioned specimens to designated laboratory location(s) Locating and correcting any discrepancies Learn and keep familiar with lab procedures and location of stored specimens Locates specimens and pulls from various departments as requested Administrative: Answer telephones, maintain logs/records, organizational skills, proficiency with numbers, research information, use computerized databases, written and verbal communications Operate a personal computer Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent 1 to 3 yrs Experience within the Medical Field Legal Authorization to Work in the US Additional Information Pay: DOE Shifts: Tuesday-Saturday, 1AM-9:30AM 6+ Month Contract **Looking for candidates with good work history, good attendance record, a positive attitude, and willingness to learn. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Pouring impressions into plaster Trimming plaster models Articulating cases Polishing dentures Educational Requirements: High School Diploma GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Confident and comfortable working with your hands Good hand-eye coordination Mechanical ability and/or artistic ability Comfortable working in a team environment Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while keeping a strong attention to detail Highly organized Understanding of OSHA protocol and be willing to cross-train in all areas of the lab 0 - 6 months of experience trimming and pouring denture models preferred Plaster bench experience preferred
