The student LA will help students taking the course through their laboratory work, including problem solving, equipment demonstration, troubleshooting, and preparation. The LA will attend a weekly pedagogy meeting and be present for labs.
Responsibilities:
The student LA will be expected to interact with students in a respectful manner, in keeping with the values of the Physics and Astronomy Community. They will attend a 30-min weekly pedagogy meeting, and attend a three-hour lab. We expect 3.5 hrs of work per week, for roughly 12 weeks.
Requirements:
Must be current full-time student at Ursinus College
The student must have completed the Phys121 and Phys122 sequence, Astrophysics(Phys301) and have approval of the department AND instructor of the course.
Preferred Qualifications:
Some experience coding in IDL, GDL, Excel and use and familiarity of the tools of introductory astrophysics, such as Stellarium and telescope usage.

Participates in orientation and training of new employees and students, hospital and laboratory in-service and continuing education programs and mandated annual proficiency testing to ensure currency of job knowledge and technical competency.

In this function, must be able to independently perform all required calibration, quality control, statistical calculations and other process control and mathematical functions. Additional responsibilities in Microbiology (if assigned):
