Assistant to the Instructor of the Introductory to Astronomy (Phys101). The student LA will help students taking the course through their laboratory work, including problem solving, equipment demonstration, troubleshooting, and preparation. The LA will attend a weekly pedagogy meeting and be present for labs. Responsibilities: The student LA will be expected to interact with students in a respectful manner, in keeping with the values of the Physics and Astronomy Community. They will attend a 30-min weekly pedagogy meeting, and attend a three-hour lab. We expect 3.5 hrs of work per week, for roughly 12 weeks. Helps with administrative duties including writing and maintaining procedures, assigning, and completing proficiency testing, and maintaining supply inventory as needed. * Orders, accessions, statuses, and reports results of tests performed on patient specimens, monitoring a variety of critical clinical issues, such as patient identifiers, specimen quality, order appropriateness, etc. In this function, the lead must be able to read and understand a variety of written material such as specimen requisitions, worksheets, patient identification, specimen requirements, etc., whether performing this task manually (e.g., on paper) or using an information system. Must be able to check and verify information such as patient identification, lot numbers, expiration dates, etc., and act appropriately.
