MedicalTechnologist - Weekend Premium Part-Time, 16 hour per week Saturday and Sunday Evenings, 2:00pm-10:30pm Rotating holidays The MedicalTechnologist I performs routine and specialized moderate and high complexity laboratory tests on blood and body fluid specimens under minimal supervision. This role ensures accurate and reliable test results by adhering to quality control protocols and maintaining laboratory instruments. The MedicalTechnologist I supports patient care by completing tests efficiently, troubleshooting equipment, and assisting in data collection for regulatory compliance. This position may also include teaching new employees and students and performing phlebotomy duties as needed.
**Essential Functions**
+ Performs moderate and high complexity laboratory tests accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely reporting of results with appropriate documentation.
+ Adheres to quality control procedures by performing required checks, analyzing data, troubleshooting out-of-range results, and taking corrective actions as necessary.
+ Conducts daily, weekly, and monthly instrument function checks and preventative maintenance according to laboratory policies and procedures.
+ Troubleshoots instrument malfunctions, attempting corrective actions or notifying the appropriate personnel or manufacturer as needed.
+ Ensures all laboratory procedures comply with safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment and adherence to the Laboratory Safety Plan.
+ Communicates effectively with peers, supervisors, and other healthcare staff, providing timely updates on unusual patient results, instrument malfunctions, and quality control issues.
+ Assists with proficiency testing and data collection required for laboratory accreditation and regulatory compliance.
+ Collects chain-of-custody urine drug screens and performs phlebotomy duties as required to support patient care needs.
+ Collaborates with team members to ensure shift duties and department responsibilities are completed efficiently and accurately.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
+ Complies with all policies and standards.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree inMedical Technology or, Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science required or
+ Passing score on the Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency examination approved by HHS (HEW) required
+ 0-2 years of acute care experience required

How You'll Create Impact
* Manage ZBI assets and instrument inventories for multiple product segments for medical education, development, industry and various other event types.
* Setting up and cleaning up cadaveric laboratories to accommodate various medical procedures.
* Ensuring proper biohazard waste disposal per state and federal guidelines.
* Decontaminating and placing instruments back into inventory at conclusion of events.
* Assisting teams using the cadaveric lab with extra tools, clean-up, procedure assistance, etc.
* Maintain appropriate levels of inventory including but not limited to, non-transplantable human tissue, instruments, lab equipment and supplies inventory by forecasting needs for various events.

Duties & Responsibilities:
* Greet our patients and customers as they enter the store, identify patients' need to ensure an easy and memorable experience while providing promotional products and services available. Answer customers' inquiries and gather necessary information to facilitate sales.
* Foster a strong partnership between the retail team and professional services.
* Schedule and confirm appointments, enter new patient history and personal information in the system, complete pre-test; obtain brief medical history, complete noncontact tonometry auto refraction, visual acuity, color test, stereopsis test, amsler grid test, etc.
* Assist Management Team with patient complaint resolution and inform the status of all jobs; ensure all patient expectations are met.
* Ensure brand standards by performing basic housekeeping duties when necessary.
* Execute simple customer repairs, assemble lenses into frames and edge stock lenses to expedite delivery of eyeglasses, and ensure customer orders are delivered accurately and on time.
* Ensure brand standards are met in the lab area, and notify management of equipment malfunctions, incomplete orders, incorrect lenses, etc.
* Keep track of delivery time commitments to patients (Now Service, Ready When Promised) to ensure 100% compliance.

Care Giver:
Responsible for a designated group of residents during the shift; knows where their residents are and physically checks on them throughout the shift.
